They gave it a whopping five stars.
Surprises me but Muse really deserve it.
I haven't even heard the album but I could have predicted it would get 9 in the NME.
the absolution stuff still seems quite lame and predictable.
Not worth a 5 at all. Its pretty good. between 3 & 4 I'd say.
is that Supermassive Black Hole just shouldn't be there.
Not that it's a bad song, it's just that that the album doesn't flow because of it.
Reviews for really big records in really big music papers most of the time = Shit, with high marks all round.
Established artists very rarely get savaged by the major press, because they need the big stars to succeed in order to sell their papers. I find it very hard to believe there's no bias, and don't feel very cynical when I say that.
Haven't read Q or NME for a while.
i can think of in recent years would be the second Vines record which the NME gave 5/10. ouch.
if I'll buy it...
But I can't believe Muse only have 76,000 friends on myspace. Think how many people have Myspace and must love Muse. I would have thought it would be nearer 760,000!
How come they get 12 tracks and my band only gets 4? Actually dont answer that.
pay murdoch lots of money
a sensitive answer...
and you're not? :D
they split with maverick years ago - that's why origin of symmetry wasn't released in the US till 2004. they were on Infectious which was part of Mushroom which got bought out by Warners. Muse moved to East/West I believe.
and was a 'bit' disappointed, but you know, it could be a grower
not really got any stonking tracks.. mind you they always jazz it up live
