Well, maybe not, but it wasn't very good.
noe wai! i thought it was ace!
mr blue sky!
it was alright.
"tastes like chicken" made me laugh
I thought it was going to be better tho, also thought it was the last one.
Mr. AbsorbiKay wasn't very good.
I liked it, I thought it was nice to have a more lighthearted one. And the worst one ever was the one a few weeks ago where televisions keep sucking people in.
with driller killer and mr "lets rebuild civilization" in.
I dont think he pulled it off
usually poor. I bet it wasn't as bad as the werewolf one though. That was wankschaft!
er, no. it was fucking dreadful. and the werewolf looked crap.
it was a good ep!
but it needed to be longer!!!
i just couldn't get into it.
I saw the first one with those people with worms on their faces, and I really liked that. But the second one i missed.
I liked it tonight, I thought it was fun! And Mr. Blue Sky!
But that was probably because I had chinese food. Tasty. That definitly did taste of chicken (among other things).
SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT.
These 'different perspective' things are fucking crap enough in things like the X-Files, but at least there the episodes have a consistency so the change of pace is pretty fun.
Doctor Who's all over place so this just came off as one of the worst 'comedy' episodes they've tried to do. Ugh...
they need to actually push the stories, challenge themselves, and move away from earth. i don't care about rose fucking tylers fucking stupid comedy mum.
they really need a few three parters and a proper story arc next year. and better scripts. tennant's been reduced to mugging a bit.
i missed this episode anyway...
And the first few episodes were good too. The last series wasn't a massively better quality actually. There were some nice eps but there were some terrible ones too.
I think this suffered because the Cybermen one was a bit lacking and as the first two parter it did drag things down somewhat.
the last two parter was a poor knock off of curse of fenric. and it contradicted established continuity.
and it was just silly. and rose can just fuck right off.
but I applauded its almost total lack of shit humour and, too-easy ending aside, the general air of doom it built up.
i missed the first bit.
i just object on nerdy grounds. and there really shouldn't have been a monster.
Doctor Who always has monsters. Wut?
the whole point of the episode was that satan was an idea. a conceptual entity that the doctor couldn't understand
as soon as you give it a body it becomes tangible, and you can kill it.
you can never kill an idea.
there's a whole swathe of dr who nerd lore about conceptual entities and stuff. really genuinely cool ideas.
I agree with everything rapscalion-jones says. Especially the Fenric bit.
i thought it was going to be fenric when those vases appeared...
the one where the Doctor tells a Russian guy he can get past vampires with any sort of faith, even faith in the teachings of Communism and it works, but those without Christian faith get killed.
We are the most pinko right-wing capitalist country in the world. I love it! :D
thats the one, all time classic
I watched Fenric again this afternoon. The re-edited movie version on the DVD. It works better in episodes, but it's still fantastic.
Although I always preferred The Greatest Show In The Galaxy myself. And Delta And The Bannermen, for that matter.
As in they just take the gaps out or they've actually altered it? I like it when they do that.
My original VHS of the Crow Road was just all four eps run as one 3.5 hour movie and it was utterly compelling. Shame the DVD compression made that an impossibility...or else they decided to be purists about it, like when people moaned that the 'previously on Buffy' bits had been left off the DVDs. Jesus...who wants that bit?
Extra footage put in, new (cheap) CGI effects, probably some rejigging of scenes, but I don't remember the episodic version well enough to know for sure. What was episode 4 is stretched to nearly 40 minutes. It kinda works, but mostly because the actual story is so good. The pacing's a bit iffy and there are loads of bits put in just to seem more filmic (when Ace realises the baby's her Mum she has a little flashback to the scene in the rain where Kathleen gives her the photo).
Like I say, the episodic version's better. They were some cracking cliffhangers.
and thats why jon pertwee kicks ass, cos he never bothered with cybermen.
They spent so much on the rights to ELO that they couldn't afford to pay Tennat and Piper to be in it! :-D
tennat (sic) and piper were filming different episodes so the story was built around that...
and you can never have too much 'mr blue sky'.
properly after last night's gig. Sound engineering in extreme heat and carrying band equipment around is not too much fun. I think my fingers are swollen.
and david tennant's brief appearance were literally the only good things about it.
i was sickened and saddened.
that the man performs sexual acts on paving slabs...
started well but went down the pan once Peter Kay turned into the fat green thing. The 'Mr Blue Sky' montage was good, but nicked fron the trailer for 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', a film that also revolved around false memories, come to think of it.
its cos the producer/writer ran out of ideas half way through the first series of queer as folk and then decided to ruin one of the greatest british series of all time with cunting eastenders extras as main characters and fart jokes.
i've kept out of doctor who threads for ages, but seeing the werewolf episode has just set me off. pure wank, not even up to colin bakers standards. at least he had peri's tits.
they're hidden somewhere on big brother.
When he said they "had a love life" I just thought to myself, "well there's only a couple of things you can do isn't there?"
i remember as a kid literally hiding behind the sofa when dr who was on. who's gonna be scared of peter kaye in a slime suit? fuck off. and it's annoying because tennant is a great dr who, and billie is actually good as rose, even if not for much longer.
i demand scary episodes.
dr. who should be scary but to stick to the saturday night time slot, they have to tone it down a lot. However, i thought with the devils pit episode, they showed how far they are allowed to push the horror on a sat night.
I liked the devils episode as it was more intense than the previous episodes.
FEED ME, anyone, that stupid women in the tv. god i hated that.
David Tennant is a brilliant doctor, and it does seem that he is having to improvise a lot.,
and for rose tylers mom, hahahahaha.
for the woman who plays Rose's mum as she was in Nuns on the Run which is just one of my favourite comedies EVER!
