that was a hell of a clearance just then. but what the hell has happened to our finishing?
You need more than better finishing, mate.
That was abysmal. Like, REALLY bad. T&T nearly scored, ferchrissakes. Owen's useless as per normal, Crouch scuffed up some sitters and Beckham's free kicks were wasted.
And you all still think England have a chance of winning the World Cup?
Aaah don't theeenk soooo.
HELL of a funny
Hype gotten to you, Makem?
He's right. And if people think Rooney alone will save us, then they are fools. He isn't good enough to do the whole teams job.
have we had a shot on target yet?
T&T look more likely to score at the moment.
Crouch managed to head it.
England did NOT deserve that goal AT ALL.
England have been smothering them for twenty minutes. Well crossed, nice header. Deserved.
A goal looked likely at the other end to be fair.
You watching the same game?!?
Need Rooney? Bollocks! Just need patience, that and a sweet right foot.
Have England finally got their 'spark'?
Overall performance has been sloppy though. Two good goals don't remedy that.
so, er, shaddap?
so, no! :-P
But he was naive to be just standing there waiting for a deflection in the first place. He must have seen the flag coming.
They deserved at least one goal.
yes it was!?!?
8 men behind the ball always...
I'd give them far more credit if they had any ambition to actually leave their own half, how far did they think they would get with three goalless draws?
are gonna say this was a bad england performance.
The only bad element was the finishing. Obviously this will have to improve, but England were at least twice as good as they were against Paraguay.
And plus (and this is a big plus) Rooney is only gonna get fitter...
"England were at least twice as good as they were against Paraguay".
I'll excuse that comment, based on the fact that you probably did have a "few" drinks during the game and you've rather over-excited yourself.
Calm down and have another think.
Look how many chances were created compared to Paraguay.
I stand by that assertion.
a Scot criticising the England team.
I think you may be a TAD biased :)
Playing against a 7-1-1-1 system means it's gonna be hard to score goals.
England did (eventually) break them down.
Through to the knockouts though :P
reasons to be cheerful: 1) through to the second round, 2) rooney came on and didn't get injured, 3) gerrard scored a great goal. maybe he's woken up now, 4) hopefully we'll play better against sides that attack us and leave some space at the back rather than a side who's game plan is to defend then try and nick one on the break (though you can't really blame t&t), 5) lennon looked good
negatives: 1) a struggling performance, no ideas, 2) lampard played shit, 3) not going to win the world cup like that
