is this acceptable?
i'm not in the mood for this peeling nonsense.
off peeling them. I think that's what they're called.
Anyway it's okay, they don't put pesticide on potatos.. yet.
she did have a spell in a mental hospital, mind
with a sentence reflecting on someones visit to a "mind retreat"
but don't completely mash them, call them 'crushed' and charge 4.50 for the pleasure a la restaurants.
but seriously, yes it's fine fine fine and much better for you.
is an idea of Satan
The skins are the best part. Anyone who peels a potato should be shunned from normal society.
It's like scrubbing a carrot - it just isn't done
If you are making garlic or mustard mash its the best ever!
makes it more interesting. just get rid of the hard bits. make sure you soften the rest of tyhe potatoes properly.
it's on cottage/shepherd's pie?
we'll find out in approx 30 minutes!
not only acceptable but really really yummy and healthy
tip: when the potatoes are about 7 minutes from ready add a load of chopped leaks and a few mint leaves
when you mash make sure you use plenty of butter/margarine and lots of black pepper
yummy yum yum
this is called a leak farmhouse mash
that should be Leek* - natch
is the best part of the potato.
So yes , it is more than acceptable.
at first i thought it was going to be a personal disaster cos i'd forgotten i had no milk. i shoved in some extra butter (ok, not so healthy) and a spoonful of mayo (ditto), some nutmeg and mustard.
then i thought, Oh noes, this looks like a big dish of wrongness.
but it was really nice.
so hurrah for laziness.
next time go with some leek though - you won't believe how scrummy it is
i have more than £1 to my name, i may try that. hurrah.
i'm dining off cottage pie for the next 3 days.
make sure you don't put the leek in too early though - unless your making gravy too in which case put the leek in at the start and use the water from the potatoes to make the gravy with
I have my mother to thank for these culinary morsels - she couldn't cook for shit so I had to take it upon myself...
about 7 or 8 minutes from time - or when the potatoes are just starting to soften up
