Coming out on Friday? I'll be in town with a merry band of genii.
on this. u out after?
you should come down after futureheads, it's only £3 in and there might still be some bands to play until 12 or 1.
I was in Brum just this very weekend. A weekend too early, by the looks of it
Sunflower Lounge is stupid loud though i agree. Louder than most of the clubs to the point of annoyance because they insist on playing shrill treble-heavy sixties obscurities.
It's a nice venue but was too loud. For such a small room, it doesn't need to be that loud.
Try pizza hut. The music is nice and low so you can hear yourself think AND they sell pizza.
it's an insult to pizza.
I saw the Hives in bella pasta in Birmingham once. This is back when they were a seriously good, frenetic riot of punk cabaret, and not a washed up pop band with a major label deal and no good songs. I wanted to send a bottle of wine over like they do in films, and have the waiter say "it's form the gentleman over there" but my girlfriend went nuts and said it would be a waste of cash so i didn't. Should have
but we'll have to leave quite early since she is liek rural and stuff
As long as mrs knees agrees.
Wouldn't be the same without you.
Tristan: I knew Alice was coming, have you decided to come as well now then?
in practice, no, definitely not.
but as brainlove said, theory = yes
u need guts and just walk in. sunflower aint tooo hard.
it's somewhat dependent on me finding the train fare
is there a tarriff for watching the bands too?
i'd really like to come, is Napoleon playing?
"Try pizza hut. The music is nice and low so you can hear yourself think AND they sell pizza."
So, I'm not welcome then?
I was just being facetious as usual
so hu will i be able to meet for like an hour.
probably be there, if i can summon up a companion.

but do you play violin at all?
nice_squirrel can do everything.
but yes, I do. It's looking very likely I'll be there on Friday now, hooray!
There are a number of options to consider:
1) Go to the event, introduce myself to everyone, and have a fine jolly time.
2) Go to the event, after saying that I won't be going, and remain anonymous.
3) Don't go to event, after saying that I am going, and send a friend instead who will pretend to be me - I have a number of friends who love 'Trout Mask Replica', are sure of their opinions socialists, are socialists, and are about my age.
considering the size of the Sunflower Lounge!
not booked us into a broom cupboard has he?
and see how my funds are. I'll make some 'enqs' (as it's abreviated in work short-hand)
it's very cosy though. It holds about 80 downstairs, I think? I used to work there (for a little while). There's lots of nice chairs and tables, it's ace.
honest! And it's in Birmingham, which is ace and stuff.
There were none at the Scarlet Tuesday gig.
I've never seen them be taken away. I wonder where they put them?
Is it important where the chairs and tables go? I am sure they are put away somewhere tidy and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
I'm sure they are.
We can both sleep soundly now.
where I don't know where the chairs and tables are stored.
I'm all over it.
it holds 70 downstairs.. there's a storage area that doubles as a fire exit next to the bar, that's where they put the chairs and tables :)
I noticed those stairs and the storage cupboard underneath
I'll play a captain beefheart song.
you have to tell me now though so I can programme it into the groovebox.
"you have to tell me now though so I can programme it into the groovebox"
Do you mean, "put it in your record box?"
He'll e-put it on his e-record box
when i play gigs I have a backing track in the form of a sequencer called a 'groovebox'.
in order to perform a captain beefheart song I would have to have programmed it into the sequencer prior to the performance.
You get paid for that?
and pretend to be you. no-one knows what i look like either.
do you look 43?
disguise kit. easy.
you'll pass for traynor no problem.*
*i'm joking with ya, john.
made a right cock out of that, didn't i.
Is that why you made such a comment directly under a post from one of the younger female users of this forum?
John was just struggling a little with his sentence construction. He's referring to some other time. It's dodgy ground though. He still denies that he has a very specific kind of interest in certain type of female musician. I'm not sure if he's just denying it, or in denial.
"He still denies that he has a very specific kind of interest in certain type of female musician. "
Liar and a repetitive idiot
You sound a bit... playground.
