I bought American Psycho last year and loved it.

I'm reading LTZ as well and that is topping AP for me.

Is it worth getting Glamorama and Lunar Park? I love the sparseness of his writing, the way he abrubtly ends chapters with the starkest of images.

Does he lose it basically, because i would feel a little crushed to read a bad BEE novel

  • I still haven't read Glamorama or Lunar Park

I should get around to doing that.
    sorry, that's not very helpful.
LTZ is brilliant though, isn't it?
    yep.

          • Lunar Park

is worth readng as a companion to American Pycho and is by some distance the best thing he has written since then. Glamorama is awful.

            • I love the idea of American Psycho

but the graphic detail in it was too much for me, I can't bring myself to read it again.

The Rules of Attraction made me ANGRY. I hate that whole 'young people are fucked on drugs and have crazy sex' shit. The only thing I liked was the connection between that and American Psycho, I love cross-book links!

              • American Psycho

is some nasty shit. Quite funny in places, but I certainly found it uncomfortable reading. I quite enjoyed Rules of Attraction, but mainly because I'd love to get away with being as much of an arsehole as Shaun Bateman.

              • i, however, read it when i was 17

and those were the best bits. theyre so imaginitive! the cheese in the cunt with the sewer rat and then chopping up the body with a chainsaw and hitting the rat while its inside her...
                ah
                bliss

                  • i fucking loved them

i held readings for the younger kids of it.

                • I've only seen

some of the film, but I'm guessing they skip that bit out yeah? Ewww....

                    • Glamorama isn't as good as other novels

but is a nice piss take on superficiality and written in BEE's usual style, which if you enjoy, is worth the read...
