Dear Steve Gibson
From a worried Boro fan.
for a new hair transplant. And he'll chuckle in that infectious way of his so we'll all forgive him.
actually... probably not...
why Venables seems to be an attractive option for chairmen. I might be too young to remember when he was a good manager, but it seems to me that he always leaves clubs in a worse state than he found them in. He did an alright job at England, but apart from that what has he done?
when he saved us from almost certain relegation. THe board love him for that. I think most other fans still love him. Just not me...
how venables looked pissed on the champions league coverage on weds?
and his sven impression.....
That jazz record?
No he'd be awful.
I'd like Guus Hiddink, Peter Taylor, Martin O'Neill or Tony Mowbray.
is this what i think it is. terry vezzer to boro.
oh dear o dear.
says he has unfinished business there, which is admirable (can't see too many other people turning down a premiership club to stay at Hull)
Couldn't hack it at Posh. Then again, who can.
I'd like Iain Dowie too.
he has bags of money to spend at hull, and its just a case of when, not if, they get to the premiership.
that seems more attractive than taking over a mid-table club, especially after what happened at leicester, who were pretty much in the same situation.
and the money they have. But I'm sure a lot of lower league managers would jump at the chance to work in the premier league at a club that have been established there for several years. It would be a move up in terms of quality of footbal, money, reputation and celebrity.
i was just arguing for the sake of it really, although you can never underestimate job security, especially where football's concerned. why give up a lucrative contract at a club you're settled at, where you get on well with the chairman and the fans to take on the middlesbrough job?
that said, he may just be waiting for an offer from a better club.
Christ, if it was Terry Venables or Terry Christian I think I'd have a problem choosing. Watching him in the studio for the Champions League final I couldn't help but think of how Mike Barlow ended up in Coronation St. Can't think why
"If I shook hands with him I would check I was still wearing my watch afterward."
Venables is regarded in the game as being one of the best coaches around. Much like McClaren in that respect. I think you could do worse
Mowbray is off to Ipswich anyway, they deify him there, strange people...
