Anyone coming to the Bar Academy tonight?
on thursday. it's my birthday do. everyone is invited.
go see her. Hurrah!
and buy me a drink :D
or just wave.
still not going though.
Lame, hyped, Pretentious
no the P-word again, surely?
maybe its time I did and stopped being so indolent!
she did. to be fair my mate wants to see tilly and the wall and this kills too birds with one stone. strangely enough emmy the great and the tilly liking friend are both birds in a cockney way.
knew i'd forgotten about something tonight.
again? Has this been said of her before?
Perhaps I'm being a little harsh. I'm judging her more on her annoyingly written website/press than the music
*goes to listen*
Sorry, that's just mediocre, with annoying lyrics...I blame her success on her cute indie girlness.
"I fucking hate emmy she makes me throw up on my shoes." - Kurt Cobain
a lot of people have noted that 99% of the time, when people say "pretentious" they actually just want a negative way of saying "ambitious".
I suppose it could be her ambition to sound like that?...
Perhaps contrived is the word I'm after.
i quite like what i heard on myspace but i really don't listen to much stuff like that, so hard to judge it from a critical perspective. pleasant and moving enough though.
What makes you think that you can?
Her lyrics are what I first noticed about Emmy's music. And, she is not "cute indie girlness".......
that is your opinion and you're entitled to it.
I'm entitled to mine too, neither of us is 'right or wrong'
obviously not, it's just I find you a bit annoying, so I'd rather not debate with you. Sorry
If you do not wish to debate then don't express an opinion.
I'd love to debate, but you bring out the worst in me, so I choose not to debate with you
The Birmingham Bar Academy is a bloody sauna. I've never been in such a sweatbox - people fainting....I dissolved into perspiration.
Emmy, Semi-Finalists and Tilly were all fine entertainment. My first experience of tap-dancing instead of drums - good stuff.
every damn thing.
