I love them.
That is all.
this is what it feels like.
In other news I finshed uni today, 6 years of further education to an end.
congratulations, how does it feel?
Trail of Dead are ace.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM.
that DiS should do a special on them during their next radio programme.like they did for q and not u.
right, I'm off for a nap.
i feel like i need to be doing something, revison, essay, lecture.... but NO that's it.
then that gets replaced by 'bills'
eponymous - great
madonna - excellent
source tags and codes - mostly great but two tracks are total gash
worlds apart - gash
I used to love them loads and loads. Madonna is still PWNing album.
i only have that and Madonna.... :(
Madonna - Very good, but gets slightly boring towards the end.
Source Tags and Codes - Superb. Listenable all the way through. All the 'weak' tracks are still very good.
Worlds Apart - Shockingly good. SO wut if its radio-friendly or whatever. Just because something can appeal to the masses doesn't automatically make it shit. Its one of my favourite albums of all time and I think its their best. I hope the next one's similar.
it was "radio friendly"?
But that's a common reason for its unfair slating.
You'll see the REAL reason anyon slates it.
No one ever slated that album for being 'radio friendly'?
radio friendly? wow.
"SO wut if its radio-friendly or whatever. Just because something can appeal to the masses doesn't automatically make it shit."
One day Wrighty I'd really like to read something by you where you don't manage to disappoint me with one of your preposterous, glib takes on why people have opinions about music you don't agree with.
I have no idea if Worlds Apart is radio friendly. It's simply overblown, operatic rubbish, like Queen at their worst if they were trying to be 'arty'.
wrong board. woops. sorry theo
i still can't believe i slept on the ground in the radio 1 tent WHILE THEY WERE PLAYING at Reading 2000 :'(
worlds apart for exactly the reason that it IS operaticesque.
it's one of my favourite albums.
all the negative opinion and the fact that I had no money when it came out meant I never bothered with it.
Two thirds of Worlds Apart is great, so it's worth getting I think.
it's not that it's an 'amazing' song, i just love it.
I'm wrong. My opinion is wrong. Yours' is right.
You're an idiot for a 30 year old.
I didn't say my opinion was any more right that yours.
Your fucking welcome to love that album. But you don't see -gen- or Sarky telling me the reason I hate it is because it's all 'commercial' with the implicit suggestion that I'm just trying to be 'cool' or some such shit.
If only you'd actually argue for stuff on their merits rather than resorting to the crutches of your mis-used clichés you'd be worth arguing with.
What you do is the equivalent of me saying "oh well, you're only 15. When you grow older you'll understand why I like Madonna, little boy." I don't do that because it would be fucking stupid so maybe you'd like to furnish us with the same consideration?
Or you could just go on being a prick?
Clearly I'm the fucktard here! :D
on Worlds Apart, that's not the first one or To Russia...
It was everything after that that was rubbish, from what I remember.
i forget the names.
me + songnames = do not remember
Lost City Of Refuge
Is potential in song form. I love the airwaves it plays through, but hate the way it finishes early.
The verse to the Best is WELL GOOD!
"Hear the monster screaming what have I become..." I love it.
Lost City... is superficially dreadful. But when I got over the shit drum recording, I saw it was actually a superbulous song.
