did it start working again more than 12 hours after you did it?
Just asking, like...
Yesss im not the only one who's done it!
And my phone completely broke im afraid.
I somehow managed to spin round to talk to someone, loosen my grip slightly and just HAPPEN to drop it into a pint of water. Of anywhere i could have dropped it..i dropped it in the pint. I stood in shock and laughed at what i had done, then realised
it's ok, I'm due an upgrade, but I'll be phoneless for at least a week. I now have no watch, no alarm clock, no calculator, and no way of contacting anyone who isn't either on DiS or my parents. Hmm.
dropped his phone in the river cam. when i say 'dropped', i mean he fell in with it on his person. when i say 'fell in', i mean he got his punting stick thing stuck in the riverbed, lost balance, tried to jump to safety, and belly-flopped in to the extreme amusement of about a hundred japanese tourists, all armed with video cameras. i'm sure there is footage on the interweb somewhere.
sadly though, no, it never worked again.
*god, that's the second prole anecdote i've told tonight. for fuck's sake, it really is all about him, isn't it?
things aren't looking good for my phone then, eh? :(
How will you manage to organise yourself on saturday!!! GET IT SORTED LIEK NOW!!!
*goes to search youtube.com*
Same thing happened with the japanese tourists
Phone AND uncle story
A pint of Carslberg. I couldn't use the 1,5 or 8 buttons and screen kept going until it was hit against hard things.
I've had it in little pieces all day. I might try some active drying now.
and then leave it to dry out?
if not, you're probably fucked
now a faint blue light comes on when I try put it back together. It feels like the tragic bit in Batteries Not Included.
i've dropped mine in lakes 4 times and followed this proceedure each time and it keeps coming back from the dead!
Not sure if this helps but I like to think it proves that phones can be resilient.
drying it with a hairdryer or failing that on a radiator. I know people who have saved their phones that way!
we can only hope.
in saline solution, and wouldn't stop vibrating and taking pictures.
Then I put it on a radiator and it was fine!
it's annoying when they accidentally do though.
If you dropped it entirely into a drink, you've got a 50/50 chance. If it got sprayed or spilled on, a better chance. Put a towel over a radiator, and leave it on the towel overnight.
pint of water? Whaaa?
It has been known to happen, dude.
it stopped working, although that was a good thing as it was a brick phone that didn't display the name of who had sent you the text and the battery was so messed up i had to recharge it ever day.
it is alive, hurrah! Thanks for all the advice and crossed fingers. It was completely submerged in the pint of water, but 24hours of drying out did the trick.
it's ok, I've got a new one arriving in a week. It seems to be surviving so far though...!
