i got a lovely flyer type thing at the iLiKETRAiNS gig on thursday for something called 'sound from t'other city' which is happening on the 30th of april at SIX venues around salford (don't worry, its the closest bit of salford to manchester itself, probably a 10 minute slow walk from the city centre).
anyway, the venues include: the black lion pub, the rovers return pub, the mark addy, sacred trinity church (wow! that's like the prettiest little church in the world), the king's arms and the salford arms.
lineup highlights include: david thomas broughton, shut your eyes and you'll burst into flames, day for airstrikes, the kbc, snowfight in the city centre, kong, scarecrows, the maple state and MORE!
this looks really cool. and its only seven quid too. you ca get tickets from piccadilly records or from the box office in st ann's square. the website address is www.soundsfromtheothercity.co.uk
is anyone else going? note- i'm not involved with this in any way, but i've not seen it mentioned yet and it'd be a nice idea to have some kind of manc dis meet at this.
