and really loved it.
it's 80s SFX were genius.
why is kyle mclachlan such a david lynch whore?
and have been meaning to watch it for ages, maybe today?
ages ago, even though i've been meaning to buy it for ages.
some bits are typical lynchian fucking strangeness but it's good sci-fi wankery!
I've had this for ages (it was free with a newspaper) but I've never had any inclination to watch it. I'm scared it's going to be really really bad.
about Brazil. But i watched that recently and it was alright.
my favourite bit was their own personal shields that made them look like transformers. it was great.
and the red headed Hakkonens are scary...
used to be my favourite computer game about 12-13 years ago. Absolutely classic. so the film better not let me down.
also, Sting isn't really in it 'that' much and doesn't have a major speaking part. he kind of just skulks around being odd and scary.
...he's tolerable on screen. I only know of two films of his, Dune and Quadrophenia, and I love both. So consider putting the bass down permanently Sting, if that IS your real name.
but it's entertaining.
i had some great bizarre dreams last night after watching it.
and MacLachlan - sigh...
It's that whole period of when LYNCH was the king of cinema (I didn't like Mulholland Drive that much - sorry - I think he has lost it a bit) and quite cutting edge with what he was doing, the way he was filming, producing, writing... WRITING - yes!
I'm both a Lynch and Kyle fan (Dale Cooper - sigh).
...Dune is ace.
i've never seen any other Lynch film the whole way through except for Mulholland Drive and Fire Walk With Me...
up to where he rapes her with her dressing gown?
does that happen? or am i fucked up?
... i've forgotten her name.
also has an ACE as hell soundtrack. Personally I don't think you can do better than Twin Peaks though. Glorious!
Did Lynch do Eraserhead? I didn't like that either. That's another reason why I've not watched Dune yet; I'm not sure i 'get' Lynch
The widescreen 2.5hrs approximate length version directed by Lynch?
Or the 4:3 TV ratio 3+ hour long one directed by 'Alan Smithee'?
I have that version (as it was a fiver) and mean to buy the proper cinematic SE at some point.
If your version started off with the princess then it's the cinema version. The other one has a long introduction with drawings...
but the fear of seeing Sting in his pants puts me off watching it.
No one wants to see Sting in his pants.
like you wouldn't all do Sting if you could.
"you'd do her though, wouldn't you?" comment over Madonna.
I can safely say the answer to both is "no" ;P
you're all in denial. heh.
