Hello, reviewers everywhere. Here is a song dedicated to you!
but I shall later. Promise.
Also: what is No Deal or No Deal? That sounds kinda boring...
to Stupid Computer! again...
I like it. It just needs to be LOUDER!
ADDED. i like it, and yes i do have converse shows and am a reviewer :(
id review u goooood tho.
Try taking your computer off "mute"...
and i think you should mix the vocals a wee bit louder, especially in the spoken word bits, cos i had to really strain to hear them.
I hope Colin doesnt ban me for it! :D
It's ver much tongue-in-cheek - I'm not persecuting a minority or anything!
I like it.
I wasn't drawing up a census, just testing the water to see how many people might take issue with the song! There were sufficient numbers to make it worth my while!
i was hoping for a name check :(
I don't own any Converse shoes.
You're right though. We don't serve any purpose at all. I don't even know why I do what I do. I mean, just think, when I'm playlisting another DiS Radio in the genuine hope that someone, somewhere will hear something and fall in love, I could be at home watching TV instead. Or when I'm writing a review of something I'm so excited about I can barely concentrate on the page from thinking how people are going to react when they hear it, I should just be down the pub or starting fights or selling smack to 15-year-olds.
It's so easy to pick on music journalists, critics, hacks, whatever.
I did quite enjoy the song, it has to be said.
it was tongue in cheek.
(psssst - ban him!)
i thought it was an enjoyable, well put together song, but think the message is a little pathetic. id find it a lot more amusing if it was a bit more over the top, and claimed that journalists invented AIDS and killed babies, rather than just being a slightly smug whinge.
The back lash! A "slightly smug whinge"? You're a reviewer, right? :D I love reviewers - some of my best friends are reviewers! I knew some of you wouldn't appreciate the sentiment and I apologise to anyone who thinks it an unnecessarily harsh one. Think of it as a review of reviewers! The truth is that it's not really about reviewers per se, it's about the crap ones. Which I'd have thought was pretty obvious. Unless your reviews consist of "comparisons all the way through" and your knowledge is a product listening to a Smiths LP and little else, then I wouldn't worry! I do believe that the way the internet has been saturated with hundreds of reviews of everything means that the reviewers whose criticism is a result of a genuine passion and/or expertees as opposed mere "opinion" have been undermined by people trying by any means necessary to fill up space.
I am loving the reviews that you are giving, however. Can I quote you, Crablin??
I'll rank it up there with the time I was quoted on a Maximo Park TV ad.
guess i should just actually review some mainstream albums.
I don't really think their No.3 album of 2005, Isolee, is exactly 'mainstream'.
they only feature something thats been reviewed a certain number of times, so it has to have a certain degree of exposure to be on there. its kinda irrelevant how well it did in their end of year list, because it isnt them reviewing it.
maybe "international" and "buzz" would be more accurate than mainstream. but id be more confident of finding a mainstream album on there than a non mainstream one. better odds of finding coldplay than isolee.
Me and my 17 yr old brother knocked this up in an evening!
I don't take anything you ever do or say seriously. You bounder.
I'm a little bewildered by the reviewers compulsion to critique!
a reflex action, like kicking a football or eating a pie. Or something.
apart from the under mised vocals.
i like the opening guitar riff a lot.
They are just incidental. A treat for those with head-phones, if you like! The lead vocal is loud enough isnt it?
By the way, does anyone know what the review being read out is?
