being touted as the discerning alternative of choice to the NME is pretty fucking exciting as far as i'm concerned.
to have "see also" referring to our two biggest UK rivals, one of which is run by Beggars Banquet Records, the other of which has a 52-year history and the money of IPCmedia behind it, but DiS being picked out as the best is fantastic.
playlouder was run by BB. was it set up by them or did they just buy it?
and fund it. hence the selection of exclusives for bands on 4AD, Beggars, XL, Too Pure, Matador and other Beggars labels.

I don't really like NME.com or Playlouder, I don't visit them nearly as frequently enough as DiS. And I find Pitchfork boring to read. I was regularly reading DiS even before I bothered to sign up to the message boards.
even though I don't actually do anything for the site other than hang out here. Is this wrong? Well done, anyway.
But well done to people like Crablin, Sean and Matt building DiS from an idea to one of the most important music websites (according to the Observer).
I swear 77 people online is more then you usually get on a sunday evening.
brilliant though. I wouldn't still be here otherwise. The amount of new bands and stuff I've discovered through here is amazing. It's better than most music mags, that you pay for...
