Right quick fire round. No faffing, who do you prefer, Pacino or DeNero?
DeNiro needs a new agent.
Rocky & Bullwinkle is a misunderstood masterpiece.
Pacino is fantastic, but De Niro wins for Mean Streets alone. He was like 8, or something
Good point though...
If I had to choose one, it'd be De Niro. Probably.
all the way
De Niro for playing a wider variety of roles (young Corleone, Travis Bickel, LaMotta, King of Comedy guy, Jimmy Conway) and for his research/dedication to his characters - hanging around at with taxi drivers, gaining a load of weight for Raging Bull
Disqualified for blatant faffery.
because I'M BETTER THAN ALL YOU COCK-A-ROACH-ES
De Niro everytime. I could say "get a new agent" to Pacino as well.
(in his younger days - whooooooooo hoooooooooooooo! Sexy man)
for still being at capable of acting.
But then I do DESPISE Al Pacino. The very thought of his annoying face/voice/body makes me want to vomit
surely Twins is one of the best films everFACT?
This is the only correct answer.
We need a Pesci Vs DeVito poll. My Cousin Vinnie was quality.
what about Taxi vs Taxi Driver - come on let's have it fooking large
but Pacino has had much better roles than DeNiro over the last 15 years.
Hmmm, from 1991 (ignoring Heat)...
Frankie and Johnny
Scent of a Woman
A Bronx Tale
Meet the Parents
De Niro everytime.
Pacino = man that shouts in films and makes you want to die
Barring The Godfather o'course.
I'll give him Dog Day Afternoon as well.
Between them, they are responsible for like 20 of my top 25 films ever
Frankie And Johnny
Dog Day Afternoon
to name but a few. I favour De Niro slightly, but how can you be without either of them?
Wag The Dog
This can go on forever :D
even when he was the vicar in Sleepers, he acted like a fucking ganster. He's no good. Pacino's much more versitile.
Balls. Hi Mom? King of Comedy?
Mad Dog And Glory...
Cape Fear, Ronin or Meet the Parents and De Niro's character in Jackie Brown is probably the least interesting in the film.
Cape Fear was good. Ronin, Meet The Parents and Jackie Brown, not so good. Insomnia? Absolute Montevideo
to the comical 3ft 3in actor and wait to be told to fuck off
Romancing the Stone - an arthouse classic - Eisenstein would turn in his grave
and agree that Pacino overacts (shouts) a lot of the time but De Niro has been in far more dreadful films over the last ten years than Pacino.
Also, Pacino probably does shout better than anybody else.
I don't think the last ten years for either of them has been their zenith, but I think you can forgive them that for what went before. If De Niro wants to do Meet The Parents then let him, he's earned it
I'm struggling to think of any more good films they've done in the last 15 years.
In conclusion: They both need new agents.
Well I was gonna start comparing bad films made by the two and who's were worse but that's a good conclusion...
Still, Godsend vs The Recuit :D
15 Minutes vs Any Given Sunday
I like both of those...
for the record I STILL get them mixed up in films - not the obv. ones, obv.
so he can prove he is a comic actor. But's he's just the same robert denero and that's meant to be the joke. YAWN.
so it's hugely disappointing to see them appear in shite where they are just picking up a pay cheque and phoning in their performance.
the only person that just thinks al Pacino is embarrassingly bad at acting?
so maybe you are.
and no returns
Guess you win then.
you can't post til someone posts your name
Meh, once you've made all the films they have and get a little older I don't mind if they don't feel the need to starve themselves in preparation.
I'm more annoyed with the fact there's no actor with anywhere near their amount of talent.
What is the alternative for them, though? I liken it to a once top-class footballer having to carve out a career in the lower divisions. They aren't going to get the roles that they once got, partly because time marches on and partly because those great roles don't seem to be being written any more
be around during the 'New Hollywood' of the 1970s. If we had a similar period now, with the same caliber of directors, I think we'd see some great performances from younger actors.
Apart from his work on the Godfather films, Pacino only plays one role. De Niro has excelled in a wide range of parts.
