Come on team, I need sandwich fillings that aren't meaty. They can be fishy but not tuna. Go!
but I prefer the meat ones to be honest.
I'm eating it now
mozzarella, pesto and sun-blushed tomato. the.best.sandwich.ever.
but I need something I can make in work on a daily basis. We only ever seem to have chicken and ham in the fridge.
- Egg mayonnaise (with plenty of pepper) - fresh made only.
- Falafel (honest)
- Houmous and peppers
- cheese and pickle with salad bits
- mozerella, avocado and tomato
sandwiches are the ones you make randomly by throwing odds and sods into a baguette.
Try brocolli, cheese, lettuce, spring onions and cucumber with lashings of pepper.
Failing that, I always find cheese and ketchup sangers are very yum.
avocado, tomato and mozzarella. Oh yes.
but you'll note I mentioned the rest ALREADY!
Falafel is the mutt's...
Cheese and marmite - I haven't eaten anything else for 24 years. It makes me boring, yes, but it doesn't make the sandwich boring
philadelphia light cream cheese spread, with sliced tomatoe, a little bit of salt and pepper..
brie, pear and lettuce.
chickpeas, feta, chillis and tomato on pitta bread, mmm...
brie, pear and lettuce sounds ace! I'm having that...
i stole the idea from marks & spencer and then made it better.
but don't use iceberg lettuce, it's too watery - use cos or even substitute with rocket.
Brie, walnuts, cranberry jelly stuff, and some leafy salady stuff. REALLY NICE!
that the best non-meat sandwich filling would be a great big pile of meat.
tomatoes, raw sliced mushrooms and mayonaisse........Mrs Knees's favourate
with a bit of rocket and grated carrot and a drizzle of olive oil - has to be wholemeal bread, natch
also egg sandwich with brown sauce and 3 tubs of butter
what that means.
Ho is sable?
asparagus, spinach, cress, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, crougettes, pesto, salsa, onions and peppers in my sarnies.
cheese with cucumber, tomato and mayo
cheese and crisps
camembert and celery
hummus and celery/carrot
brie and cranberry sauce
egg and tomato
has anyone mentioned the much underestimated 'crisp buttie'
Some crisps lend themsleves to this culinary delight better than others though, I like walkers ready salted.
smokey bacon works well. Do they still make smokey bacon crisps?
i hope they do.
i also like salt & vinegar discos on a buttie. they make your face screw up.
but this is sex in the mouth
otherwise, you need properly nice rolls to make non meaty sandwiches work.
i suggest a mozzarella, tomato and avocado panini.
It's a travesty, I know. But the problem can, and hopefully should, be solved by using BIG JUICY STEAKS instead of bread. Thus, the sandwich is restored to it's natural beauty.
If you've only got that vile smooth stuff, make it crunchy by adding, ooo, I dunno, glass or something.
Failing that, EAT MEAT!
Or something like tomato, mozzarella and avocado.
VERY RIGHT indeed...
really though, if a sandwich doesn't contain bacon, steak, or a pretentiously foreign meat IT ISN'T A SANDWICH. IT'S A LIE.
SALT AND VINEGAR CRISPS WITH TOMATO SAUCE SANDWICHES.
OMGOSH THEY ARE AMAZING
peanut butter and jam
crisps (my crisp of choice, cheese&onion Tayto)
brie and grape
You have to have tuna or meat in a sandwich.
OOhh - brie and grapes otherwise.
Yes yes yes.
apple sandwiches too. yum.
If you said Hula Hoops I'd always assume you meant plain salted hula hoops.
That would be always be the default unless you specified otherwise.
It's the classic Hula Hoop.
onion bhaji sandwich with mango chutney and lettuce, on granary bread.
beyond good :D
shredded smoked mackerel, mayo, worcester sauce, rocket, twixed slices of warm brown toast.
+ Sliced red pepper
With optional toasted sesame seeds if you can be bothered.
and mayo if you're feeling adventurous
thats asking for trouble
