Favourite time of day to drink

restlessboy [Edit] [Delete] 23 replies 14:39, 2 March '06

Mine is before getting out of bed. There's always half a can of lager by the bed from the night before. I down that before even being bothered to turn the alarm clock off. Then I stagger to the kitchen and swear a lot as I try and find some more. A quick pyjama'd trip to the offie usually nets me a hip flask sized bottle of smirnoff to drink whilst I get ready and on the way to the bus. Where the swimmy haze in my head blots out the screams of the school children and numbs that part of me that has already given up, but still watches the world through glazed eyes and feels a million tiny deaths at every joyous youthful shriek. Another quick pint over the road before actually going into the office where I always have some vodka and red bull ready stashed in a sports drink bottle (to wake me up like).

Then I log into DiS and watch the day dissolve before my eyes.

  • ahaha

but seriously, i'd have to say 3pm. it's not of alcoholic proportions but it's early enough to feel like a naughty kid that's wagging school.

i haven't done it for ages actually.

    :(

    • Afternoon drinking rulez

Although it is nice to walk to a wetherspoons in the morning and be greeted by postal workers and drunk pensioners

  • Excellent stuff.

My favourite drinking experiences are usually those that aren't planned. For example, you go out on a summer's day, meet some friends on the off chance in the afternoon, go to the pub for a couple but then end up staying until closing.

    • i like it when

the first thing to pass my lips on the morning is a beer.

i makes me think that it's going to be a good day

    • True...

you plan for a quick post lecture pint and then spend the whole day/evening there... They usually contain legendary games of pool as well and tales about fortunes on the quiz machine...

      • Yes

It was known as going for a 'Leo Sayer' (all-dayer) at my university.

  • night time

nothing like being delirious from drink and up late watching trash on TV.

    guntrip | 2 Mar '06, 14:48 | X
    • yes!

I love that. Staggering back in with a couple of friends and shouting stuff and that screaming inanity which passes for TV at 1AM. I swear they make it like that just to give drunks something to do.

      • It's better...

when you attempt to play computer games at that time of night.

4 player Micro Machines goes down a storm... until about 6 in the morning.

  • sneaking that can

    • Beer for breakfast rules

      after a heavy night...

Otherwise it has to be about 7pm onwards. Drinking during the day makes you feel shit. Even if you carry on all night, you get that manky almost-drunk-yourself-sober feeling. Drink should more be a three-four hour partyfest of peaking before collapsing asleep.

don't like drinking too early, I have a habbit of falling asleep and waking up bright and alert in the middle of the night.
