*REAL* GEEK POST! Favourite OOP language

crablin [Edit] [Delete] 32 replies 10:36, 1 March '06

I'm gonna go for Delphi's take on Pascal. I always found it to be the most intuitive way of object-oriented coding on a Win32 platform, but I'm really starting to grasp Objective C and the whole Cocoa environment on the Mac now.

  • I think

    parachutes is their best album.

  • I never stopped liking Hanson.

    You're only a cunt if you dislike Germlin.

    crablin @magpieboy | 1 Mar '06, 10:39 | X
  • That's a bit lazy really.

    They're loads better than Hanson and totally different. That's a bit like saying to someone who likes PJ Harvey "ah! girl music. are you liking Cher again yet?"

    • i really miss i_zimbra

      • are youo anything to do with Germlin?

        are they funny?

    • I like C++

      what the fuck are we talking about?

      Damn *real* geeks...

      moker | 1 Mar '06, 10:49 | X
      • Yeah C++ for me

        You never forget your first OOP...

        • weird...

          i am actually doing some OOP RIGHT NOW

          on C++ of course!

          threevector operator+=(threevector v_other)
          {
          threevector v_inc(xcoord += v_other.getx(),
          ycoord += v_other.gety(),
          zcoord += v_other.getz());
          return v_inc;
          }

          classic...... NOT!

          tobythecat @iShotTheDeputy | 1 Mar '06, 12:04 | X
      • I know it's not really

        a language as such, more a layout/web tool.

        But i just fucking love CSS/DIV/XHTML. The huge difference and improvment over TABLES is immense. It is so elegant.

        I'm in love.

        • Object Orientated Programming

          Or 'oriented' if you're on the other side of the Atlantic.

              • BBC Basic is my type of programming

                It gave us Granny's Garden!

                I'm not welcome in this thread am I?

            • BASIC

              isn't Object Orientated. Visual Basic KINDA is, but it was always just a poor extension of a pretty much redunant coding language.

              crablin @shadyadie | 1 Mar '06, 15:08 | X
              • You could kinda OOP BASIC

                with loads of GOSUBs

                iShotTheDeputy @crablin | 1 Mar '06, 15:10 | X
              • i know

                i was trying to be 'funny'.
