I think it's a good idea but I think it's harder to concentrate on a screen than a page. Studies should be done.

for classroom based - dunno. not my area, m'fraid...
about professional development. Lots of Dental Care Professionals (the poncey name for hygienists, therapists etc) can now fulfill the required amount of Continuing Professional Development (sort of learning that they have to do while training) online, which means they don't have to waste time travelling around the country (normally to London) to courses and things, and can sit in the comfort of their own room and do it in their spare time. It's simple and easy, much more convenient.
