best play I've ever seen!!
And it was in fucking BOLTON!!!
Seriously, if anyone EVER has the chance to see this two-man wonder then do so.
The Mystery of Irma Vep is a modern two-man comic play done in the style of a victorian melodrama.
It would probably rubbish on film but it's great in the theatre as such things are.
I love the Theatre and need to go more often.
was probably the elephant vanishes.
and that was at THE BARBICAN.
with bolton? the octagon theatre puts on a great range of stuff all year round.
Bolton scares me a little bit, that's all. :(
They're different up there...
When I was in Manchester I learned to distinguish a Bolton accent from a Manchester one. I earned Kudos from a a guy from Bolton who phoned me when I'd just moved back to London by working that out.
Not sure I could do it any more.
IN a view from the bridge.
I don't really go to the theatre often. Best play I ever saw was based on Roald Dahl's autobiography Boy -performed by 3 blokes, who only used 3 old-fashioned school desks as props. It was fantastic.
I once saw a play based on Of Mice And Men, it was awful. The guy acting as Lennie just shouted "TELL ME ABOUT THE RABBITS GEEEEEEEEEEEOOOORRRGE!!!!" every 5 minutes, and generally got on my nerves.
I played the lead in each ('twas in Junior School) because I was the only boy who could sing. I can't act for toffee. D'oh!
too when I was 20. I was a shark, I couldn't sing but I could dance. I have the video of it. Hate watching it now cos I was a skinny little thing back then!
between a bolton and bury accent?
was The HIstory Boys
