does it exist?
Or is it just richard and judy playing a HUGE prank on us all?
And yes in theory, it's a good thing. Except no one knows what it is, so everyon panics, and tries to risk nothing.
is a good thing. sorry
burger van dude here in bangor isnt allowed to sell chips after 11pm and has to serve anything in a bun with salad!!
how's that political correctness? surely thats just nonsense laws?
there is a proven correlation between alcohol consumption, chip consumption and psychosis-induced murder.
90% of people that use that phrase are fairly racist, homophobic etc etc. "Political correctness" is not perfect as a concept, but why not make a little more of an effort and try not to offend other people. The burger van thing is different I think - not sure the reasoning for that!?
That people that implement mad pc ideas are racist etc. but don't want to be.
It's just really really patronising...
what is wrong with having the festivities in january given another name? muslims pay council tax. so do jews. so do sikhs.
if you pay in you should expect a little something back. i have no problem with christmas lights, but how about some ramadan lights too?
anyway, we don't live in a christian country. it's a secular democracy. if you want to celebrate christmas do so, but i don't remember there being any snowmen or christmas trees in the nativity.
ps this isn't aimed at you pad1. just the idiots.
i think we are a christian country, head of state being the head of church and all that
hoping for a progressive nation without someone who is better than us because of who their daddy was endorsing a religion i don't particularly like.
but the monarchy is a vital part of our culture, as are christian values. and that's why the labelling of certain events is important.
not vital. she gets her picture on the coins and a host of benefits because of who her family are.
backing the monarchy is saying that certain people are better than others by an accident of birth.
and as for our christian values, what ever happened to turning the other cheek, not lending money, GOING TO CHURCH!?
ludicrous cliche trotted out by white, middle-class men who have probably never experienced discrimination so don't see the need for positive action, codes of practice etc. to address the unfairness that, for many people, is an everyday fact of life.
*Draws breath and dismounts from hobby-horse*
It's far better that someone voices their outrageously prejudiced opinions and can be seen to be what they are and addressed as such by people who have different or opposing opinions than sweeping everything under the carpet and having society inherit masses of unspoken taboos.
The point of PC gone mad is the idea that loony-lefties are now imposing laws inflicting on peoples freedom of speech.
if anything it's more an imposition that a person should not be deviating from the prescribed 'norm' as far as being a good citizen - which is fine in theory but nonsense in practice - which makes it nonsense in theory
Culture is dynamic - at least it ought to be
Is the battle between positive and negative such a conflict that we must have neutral all the time?
the purest reason for political correctness is simply not to offend, or even emotionally hurt, other people. One example is, I am sorry to say (embarrassed) Rula Lenska's comment on CelebBigBro tonight when she referred to "lying arabs" - what the fuck is that? You should not say such things, simply because it is offensive - and what pc should be about is just that - thinking again, just taking a moment to re-think your own prejudices/cliches/sayings, and attempting not to alienate another person. Simply, that is all PC was ever about but it has received a bad press from right wing media and a slight muddling of thought - eg the burgers thing above - which isn't an example of pc.
yeah. they exist. AND theyre in control of the government.
Yes I'm wankererereerererered
certainly lives up to its title!
Is a form of social engineering - and whatever the good intentions may be, social engineering ALWAYS turns out bad.
the worst is jeremy FUCKWIT clarkson spouting on about how 'the politically correct brigade' want all these AWFUL traffic cameras to stop him speeding in his dickr substitute ultrafast cars, because - and get this! - they dont want people killed by a mulleted high waistlined CUNT who has (in national newspapers mind you) compared the plight of motorists to that of concentration camp victims. i'm not shitting you. what A FUCKWIT.
in my opinion.
but i don't like the people who share that opinion because they are a load of reactionary wankers.
not wanting people to die for the sake of some twat getting home from work 5 seconds quicker is so MONSTROUSLY UNREASONABLE it can obviously be compared to the plight of millions of slaugthered jews.
mind you I'd quite happily gas a millions Jeremy Clarksons...
a big guy, you'd need an extented gas chamber. maybe send him to the daily mail. they breath out poison.
As far as the public image that he presents is concerned.
were right to attack him (custard pie or similar I recall?) for glorifying cars. you're not allowed to advertise tobacco, so why not remove cars too?
Indeed. In Stoke:
And balck and white COFFEE don't exist, instead we have with or without milk.
