Send me back my piccolo you cunt.
I went to school with one - a right fat cunt he was
piccolo: pizza or instrument?
he looks like Sven Goran Eriksson.
john williams was FIRED from the latest hary potter film by director mike newell.
surely john williams can have mike newell KILLED, let alone fired?
just a thought.
la la la
It's a bit shocking isn't it? He's like film soundtrack god. And the Prisoner of Askabahn soundtrack was fucking awesome...
after actually researching the above tale rather than trusting a friend's ramblings, i have discovered that he was not 'fired' as such, but that Patrick Doyle was recruited to score the film at the personal request of Mike Newell, as the two have worked together before on a bunch of films.
This says, to me at least, that Williams was 'dropped' from the production. Which is admittedly far less shocking.
but soundtrack god or not, there is such a thing as TOO MUCH BOMBAST. So maybe a change was a good thing.
This has to be my longest post ever.
So I won't prolong it anymore.
Sorry. It's late.
Given Williams was scoring Munich and Memoirs of a Geisha anyway, he probably wasn't much bothered.
seems to think that John Williams left potter so he could work on memoirs of a geisha, You'd think if he had been dropped or forced out there would be something on the bbc news website like there was when the King Kong composer got axed.
Anyway, he still did all the main themes, it's just the original music in the film that's by Patrick Doyle
wasn't it? Because it was the same guy (whose name escapes me) who did all the music for LOTR, so it seems weird they couldn't work together again.
Not that I was a massive fan of the LOTR soundtrack. It grew on me but it wasn't electrically brilliant from the outset like Star Wars or Danny Elfman's Batman stuff.
