worst show ever tonight?
i think you mean best show ever, i mean david gray is on, he is AMAZING!! hes the most original and intersting artist of the last twenty years
richard hawley and i thought the rakes were pretty good for the first time i've heard them
apart from that i dont think theyre that great, everyone raves about the national aswell and i thought they sounded a bit dull to be honest but then thats only one song so far...
the national and richard hawley were great, rakes were ok, solomon burke's suit/throne combo was hilarious.
i wud have loved 2 hav seen richard hawley. coles corner is 1 of my fav albums of the year. jools holland has lost it, and i think i shud take ova and the show wud b called laters jools holland. the only guests allowed on wud b any1 who is NOT in the top 20 of that week and hus album sales are lower than 100,000 thus givin the general public a chance 2 c sum new stuff. i wud also not hav and of that world music shit on
a bit of a poor showing this week
did anyone see the boy george anthony & the johnsons collaboration on jonathon ross ?
weird yet oddly kinda good
get the National confused with the Notwist, the Notwist are better though.
I wasn't even paying attention to it most of the time. The national were alright but it was even more of a reserved performance than the ULU gig, still they sounded quite good.
David Gray - Jesus he's actually managed to become even more boring, at least before he was memorably boring, I can't remember a single note that he played.
The rakes are not "the new sound of london", they are toss.
Solomon Burke sounded like he was drowning in his own saliva. Not good.
Just don't watch it if you are going to bitch about it
I use the wonderment of Sky+ to record it as I'm usually out on a Friday night. Even though I may not like half the stuff that's on there, I don't go on every week about how crap it is
For a similar situation, see NME related threads
Should've switched over to four and watched Bats, best puppets ever!
Jools Holland was shocking last night, i hate his orchestra, which he kept emphasisng was HIS.
doesn't sound half as good as "I hate his orchestra". He has only himself to blame
Tis true that everyone complains about it a bit too much, but it's fustratiing because 'later' is the ONLY alternative music programme on TV, and by alternative I just mean it's not some shite chart-music type show.
