Amazon
why when I go on there to shop for essentials does the price for the musical equivalent of groceries (i.e. things I know I can't live without) always amount to 40 or 50 quid??!!

I <3
Amazon used and new. Hard to find stuff for peanuts!
yeah but
isnt it risky?
they say "new" then it turns out to be "new, but I dropped it in some acid on the way home from the shop".
I've had nothing
but good times with the Amazon Marketplace.
Tum tee tum
ok I stand corrected
all of
2 times!
Well...
I've bought quite a few CD's from there and haven't had a problem with any of them, and they arrive quickly.
It doesn't seem to be people selling a CD or two but companies using it like Ebay.
God. I sound like I work for them or something.
got any
cheap discs for sale mate? If not, can you put me in touch?
well
I just bought 3 cds 2 of which I was gonna buy new. but I bought em off a 3rd party so if they con me I'll bnlame you guys! ;)
Oh I feel guilty now! It was so easy to click "proceed with order", but the guilt! I cant afford all this stuff!
They make it all too easy...
by having your c-card details on there, meaning you just have to click that lovely "Proceed to checkout" button.
Don't worry bobby, I feel your guilt as well.
it's made easier
by credit card money on the web feeling so very far away from the real cold hard cash that you are spending.
But then I don't really feel guilt, it's only money after all.
I'M STILL WAITING
For my copy of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! from Caiman USA. It should be arriving tomorrow, but I'm growing increasingly paranoid that someone is stealing my post.
Oh...
I never buy from one of those places in the US of A, only from Britain.
It just takes weeks as they use ship mail or something.
I worked for Amazon
for ages. Buy from Amazon - they will give you your money back if stuff doesn't arrive or is damaged.
If you buy from 3rd parties - they will still give you your money back, it just takes a bit longer.
Despite everything that you might not like about them, their customer service policies are about the best in the business.
Pigeon Post
i bought
stuff from it the other week. I ordered on Friday around lunchtime:
* 1 CD turned up Saturday morning (!)
* 2 CDs turned up Monday morning
* 1 CD turned up Tuesday morning
I got 4 albums (latest An Emergency and This Ain't Vegas releases, plus Dive Dive and an old Cat On Form CD) for around £28 inc postage. Three were in brand new condition, one had a slight tear in the sleeve that was pre-warned in the item description.
It's a GREAT service.
whoops
just spent £30 on 4 more albums second hand. it's like a disease..
Amazon are good
I especially like how even at 'standard' free delivery stuff arrives next day or the day after rather than 3-5 days, so why bother paying the extra?
And I've had to deal with their customer services who were good.
That said, they're rarely the cheapest. I tend to use http://www.kelkoo.co.uk and http://www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk as well as others to make sure I'm getting the cheapest thing.
http://www.play.com are often very cheap for one CD or as cheap as Amazon and you don't have to buy up to £15 for the free delivery.
