just watching it on ITV3....what a freaky movie......panic, what do you reckon!!!!
you'd have seen stuff like that every day. we southamptoners are currently building a wall around the city to keep them out shitty wok style.
to portsmouth!!!! didnt see any pagan rituals
in any of the five millions second hand goods shops.
Won't bring back your apples.
my friend who lives on the Isle of Man. Scary stuff.
...for 9 years. like in fareham area. a guy form my school got knived about two years ago. it was in the knee and he cant walk too well. and they have no applaude for safety as a lorry with a big metal arm wasn't attatched and it swung round and killed a schoolboy and put the other in a coma.
i've always wanted to see !
i've never seen it. i feel like i really should've though.
it's a film that i can blag i've seen quite well. "oh yeah, isn't that christopher lee just terrifying!" and so on.
"You did it beautifully!"
i find this film hilarious
this movie ... its so different and freaky ... its so fucking good, the atmosphere, the tension, the total disregard for the usual horror movie attitudes towards religion, the iconic imagery, the world its created in itself, plus chrisopher lee and edward woodward are both awesome.
theres not much like this movie out there - and its only £2.99 in places like virgin at the moment on dvd!!!
to wade in and say that, whilst it's pretty good, it's also hideously overrated.
It's attained this "cult classic" status over the years which I can only attribute to a) its Britishness, b) its low budget, c) its close shave with the deletion bins and d) THAT scene involving Britt Ekland. Because to be honest, the acting is awful, the script isn't half as smart as it thinks it is and the visual design sucks all the potential atmosphere out of the beautiful scenery.
Meh. I shouldn't be too negative I guess. It's pretty daring in terms of what it depicts and the ending did end up haunting me for days. I think it just loses a lot of its potential impact because, at the end of the day, it just isn't made very well.
In my opinion :)
a fucked up movie. Makes you wonder about these pagan rituals and stuff as it does go on (maybe not to that extreme)....i found it to be the same kind of atmosphere as 'dont look now'.......every bloody person who is in it is damn well sinister and freaky!!!
is just a blanket term that was used to cover all the crazy little local rituals during the christianisation of the british isles and/or europe
I was about to chip in, but I realise that I agree with virtually all of what smileadelic says.
Isnt scary. Its so ridiculous and the policeman is such a dork that he deserves to become a burnt offering! the epitaph "sanctified in the semen of serpents" is hilarious to me. I could stop laughing the whole way through.
could not stop laughing even. Im not trying to be all macho here and say HUH im no wimp i can watch horror and it dosnt scare me pal. I just find all the characters unbelievably camp and the dialouge just feels like a massive joke. Oh well. Maybe i just dont get it.
