I'm saying he'll be back as UKIP leader on 14th August
Why is he standing down this time? I thought this was his time to shine.
reckon he'll join this new racist party that's being funded by the same guy
nah, would kill his brand
I remember George Washington's famous speech at Yorktown:
"Yeah, done my bit, hopefully we can have the same relationship with Britain, they're a top bunch of lads, the royalists should have had a plan ready for going independent, byeiiiiiiiiii!'
it's so perfect
Q: Are you putting yourself forward to be part of the Brexit negotiating team?
Farage says he is not putting himself forward. But he has expertise, and he is available if people want him.
I refuse to believe he's shunning the limelight and a sniff of power at this very moment in time. He's far too narcissistic for that. You can just see him parachuted into a Tory seat at the next election and brought into very right-wing government as a front bencher.
Got to wonder who takes over as leader of the UKIPs. They're hardly a party awash with political heavyweights or many of life's great thinkers.
their profile's large enough now that they'll probably just make further progress without such a divisive and toxic leader, terrifying times
Farage's cult of personality always felt like such a major factor
I'll wait until I see their manifesto
Quite a high likelihood he has some kind of terminal illness I guess?
Why are the good always taken so young?!?
it's been a bit dull since friday in UK politics
(not the terminal part but that it's health related)
Leadsom will be backed to be the new PM by Murdoch papers, Telegraph and probably the Mail. Becomes PM, makes Farage a Tory peer. Arron Banks, the guy bankrolling UKIP, has backed Leadsom so could probably be persuaded to shift allegiances to the Tories. Meanwhile UKIP, under a libertarian leader with completely fringe politcs and with next to no funding, fade into obscurity. The Tories, with Farage on their side and campaigning throughout the north, basically copy wholesale UKIP politics and try to take the voters in the north who defected to UKIP from Labour.
I've picked return as UKIP leader on 14th August
umlaut_ampersand has picked terminal illness
Will has went for tory frontbench
Steved has went for a general sense of dread
Still_here has went for a Murdoch-backed Leadsom to be PM, Farage to be a tory peer, Banks to back the tories and UKIP to fade into obscurity
The closest gets all of sean's fundraising cash.
Dear, sweet Banks. Never forget.
that our recent far-right party leaders have been weird and weird-looking. If Farage was a dreamboat we'd live in a fascist dictatorship by now
he's gonna punch it
Reckon he turns out to be a real catch!
Paddy Power have him at 5/1
and attempts to negotiate terms for his own tournament instead.
I think it might work on some level though? Any experts on recent critical analysis of the Turner and Hooch plot?
one of them was a dog
but I think you're thinking of Tango and Cash
