Proper plodding performance, that.
City doing the country proud thanks to KDB.
looked like Sevilla had a couple good chances before city 2-1, but de bruynes goal was delicious.
the way we were passing it about brainlessly at the 90 minute mark was hideous. cska were there for the taking for the last half hour.

A fucking Chelsea kit.
Haven't seen anything do that for about 20 years.
Find it irksome myself
Looks funny on tv
Just doesn't look like a United kit at all.
they were doing the snow thing with the shorts and socks to not clash with CSKA, but the orange numbers clashed with their red anyway, making the whole thing horrific.
are they turning a corner? #insight
For anyone not aware, it's basically Soccer Saturday except they actually show the goals and they have a panel of Football Weekly regulars (plus Howard Webb last night) watching the games instead of Merse and Le Tiss.
James Horncastle is annoying and it can get a bit painful listening to the journos struggling manfully to commentate in their second language when it cuts to their game for a while, but definitely one of BT's better innovations.
They know their stuff. No Charlie Nicholas sounding like a pissed uncle.
Apparently Mario Mandzukic is a big cheating prick and the Etihad is easy to referee at because there's not much pressure from the crowd.
Definitely better than watching whatever the other English team is serving up 90% of the time
really like honigstein and horncastle and obviously james richardson is the perfect host for this kind of thing, but i rarely listen to it.
Had Kyiv-Chelsea on the telly, Arsenal-Bayern on the laptop, and the goals thing on tablet on tuesday. all whilst looking at my phone too much. Half brilliant, half just made me wish I was in 1999 watching one game on a boxy, grainy tv.
like the occasional swears.
Following heart bypass surgery in 1991, when he finally stopped smoking ...
Not sure though.
but he's not even as good at that any more.
If it's any consolation to United fans, I'm pretty sure he's not going to break their top scorer record.
He'll get there, it'll take him three years of playing the full 90 but he'll get there.
More boring than watching us pass it sideways for 90 minutes by a huge, huge distance.
This is the Ant era, and it's ugly and feral.
Sorry that your uncooked spaghetti legs allowed you to get paid millions of pounds while doing fuck all at united, what a weird bitter prick.
Goes from wanking over bayerns possession play when they lose to saying it's not how united should play when they get a decent draw. Keeps going on about how much united have spent then actually said City haven't spent any money in recent seasons. Hope he dies
I'm stopping watching BT sports and watching American streams of the united matches on my android box
Can we now discuss, in more detail, Bayerns new tactic of getting two people to go over and take every corner? Hilariously pointless/genius stuff from Guardiola.
Lumping it into the box = losing possession
Remeber where you were the first time you saw Iniesta and Xavi do that thing where they pass it between each other a few times? Now it's so common.
spent most of their games playing triangles between Ferdinand, Terry and Robinson/James.
(He played with it before shoving it in his gob and munching it down)
that eventually they'd get so close together and pass it so quickly back and forth between each other that it would make that bobbling noise that happens when you trap a bouncing bouncy ball under a heavy book
Mata refuses to take a corner until someone comes jogging towards him fifteen seconds after setting it up.
Instead of saying he's getting slower Scholes said "Wayne has always needed pace around him" last night, that's just a blatant lie. Everything is either LvGs fault or the other players.
I thought it was hilarious when Lampard/Gerrard/Terry were hindering there teams (none as much as Rooney is at united at the minute to be fair) and people were lining up to say they were the teams best players but it's an absolute joke. Martial up top with the ability to actually run would give us miles more space to play in
He's shot, he's detrimental to every aspect of our play and he's a wanker.
No commentator is going to admit Rooney's gone to shit, just as they couldn't admit all those other names were nowhere near the best in the world at any point, as it would mean devaluing the product.
Someone needs to do one of those Liverpool "this will be our year" charts for the media with England players and the World Cup/Euros cycle.
and those who watch it on this one.
Whenever any professional talks about him it's glowing with praise, yet it's absolutely blindingly obvious he hasn't been up to anything in years.
I know they're teammates, but when Herrera said the other day that he was playing with the greatest English player of all time, and LVG his best ever captain (despite not even coming close to winning anything yet) it makes you want to tear your hair out. Someone should just come out and admit that he's a fucking barnacle.
Still find it the weirdest thing in the world that Fulham sold Moussa Dembele and then just got another one
Like when they had Collins John and John Collins at the same time for a bit
John and Collins didn't play together, come on.
John Collins introduced Collins John to the crowd and that's it
Fucking needy twats
Should have learned their lesson after their disgusting treatment of Hulk
How much? Would be nice to see the comparison between the and how much a fine for being racist is.
this man is now in charge of Leeds...
"Confidence is flowing through the team and you can just sense that. I think a lot of teams are starting to be a bit wary of that and that's what we want. We need to keep on doing it, which we have been, to be fair to ourselves."
I know it's just bog standard blah blah to answer a mundane question, but Arsenal players do this a lot off the back of a couple of good results, usually swiftly followed by an entirely avoidable defeat and Mertesacker having to do his "we need to learn the lessons" act again.
Enjoyed "to be fair to ourselves" though
is literally the only thing he has ever done of any value to anything ever.
"‘We think that all Germans look like that’"
they have a point, Pig Destroyer is the most German looking guy of all time
Such a joke club!
amazing, the months of tense speculation finally over
Excellent news, obviously.
although maybe it surprised Smee as well
And it was only yesterday Smee was posting about the possibility of taking a job that he was eminently qualified for with one of the few potential employers in the city. Hmm...
whereas Carlton is quoted in that article as saying "When Celtic called and said they wanted me, I just ran over"
had a van so no-one would clock he was actually Carlton Cole.
"Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects midfielder Aaron Ramsey to be out for some time and could miss Wales' friendly with the Netherlands on 13 November.
"He had a scan today but he's out. I believe he will be out until after the next international break," Wenger said.
Ramsey is a hamstring injury."
He sure is!
can't wait to see the caption on that
'I hope Chico and I ain't having a laugh at Steve McLaren's expense'
schweinstiger has been made into a Nazi doll.
fucking hell, jones is actually a moron isn't he. Inner monologue:
"OK here comes the whistle, I'm ready to run in as soon as it goes,... and we're off! oh he's actually kicked it, nevermind...
Ah!! he's saved i.. oh no."
We've just spent £160m on players, £50m on the stadium and £250m on an Academy despite not being allowed to spend loads of money, and Platini's on the brink. I'd say it's all working out...quite fine!
It'd be disappointing if a bit of UEFA house cleaning didn't happen as a result of what's going on at FIFA. We know Platini's bent, they've had to all but scrap FFP for fear of legal challenges, fans are being charged through the roof for tickets whilst a select band of clubs (including City) continue to dominate their domestic leagues largely down to guaranteed income from Europe, all while serious incidents like racism and corruption are swept under the carpet. It's an exciting competiton, but it's farcical at the same time. Fans of all clubs should boo the anthem like City fans do, or boycott games like Bayern's fans (kinda) did.
being the only ones who can win major domestic leagues - Bayern or Dortmund in Germany (7 out of the last 8), Real or Barca in Spain (10 out of 11), pretty much forever in Italy, PSG in France since their takeovee, the Big Four in England. Hard to really envisage another Atletico Madrid happening anywhere.
for about a decade before Klopp's first title and if Stevie had just bunged in the winter studs then Liverpool would probably have won the league despite only occasionally qualifying in recent years. Obviously all pretty anomalous to differing degrees, but I don't know if Champions League income is quite the defining factor it gets painted as (not that it hurts obviously)
Plus £7m revenue from their four (heh) home games. That's £40m for being a mediocre Champions League club. Imagine what United must've earned on 20+ years in it, generally doing okay, in a bigger ground. Best part of a billion, i'd guess.
At least anymore - the tv stations/sponsors/owners/wider media now contribute at least as much as UEFA to the increasingly uncompetitive nature of having that established "top flight" you're talking about. I agree though it's an absurd bureacracy to pays lip service only to standing up to extortionate prices and racism etc etc and the fans obviously shouldn't be punished for speaking their minds.
Jamie Jackson Loves Rooney
And he's 30??? Der god
with a bunch of players whose careers didn't take place exclusively in the Premier League??
I can only imagine this will be fully investigated in an unimpeachably open manner.
If this has any effect whatsoever on the scheduling of this match I'm going to fucking cry for about a fortnight.
Finally thought I was in the clear for rescheduling flights etc and now this
which seems like a huge deal and the media gets excited over, but leads to nothing
thisl be forgotten in a week
Had to mute Hargreaves on Tuesday after he individually called everyone in a Bayern shirt a 'phenomenal player' and kept using the term 'best in the business'. Had to mute Danny Mills last night, seems very angry about everything. Bring back Efan Ekoku.
actually seemed really knowledgeable about the players 'n ting.
Similar to Neville in that he's much better as a pundit, but he doesn't actively ruin the viewing experience when he's on comms like most of them
I also don't think Owen's *quite* as bad as people make out, but that's pretty slim pickings
Worked really well because there was less pressure on them to fill the silence if they didn't have anything interesting to say. Obviously strayed into banterland a couple of times but nothing too MOTDey.
Great stuff from Mundo Deportivo
1: “I want to build a team that fights for a European spot in 15/16”. Real Sociedad currently above relegation zone on Goal Difference.
2: “My philosophy is to win. If it’s in style, great. If not, it’s still great”. Real Sociedad have only 1 one out of their 8 league matches played.
3: “I want to immerse myself and plan on speaking the language quickly”. 11 months in, barely speaks Spanish thus struggles to talk to his players.
4: “There will be changes in Zubieta (training ground). Training is my strong point”. MD says that people who have seen his sessions call them ‘antiquated’.
5: “My ideal is to play attacking football and for people to be inspired”.
8 league games played, 6 goals scored, 9 goals conceded.
6: “We need to fight with Sevilla, Valencia, Athletic, Atlético & Villarreal.” All are above Sociedad in the table. Villareal and Atletico Madrid are 10 points higher than Real Sociedad, Valencia 6 points higher, Sevilla 3 points higher, and Athletic Bibao are 2 points higher.
7: “Hervías, Oyarzun, & Capilla will be in the first team.” Hervías got loaned to Real Ovieda, Oyarzun (44 mins played so far in the cup) & Capilla (11 mins in La Liga).
surely gone by christmas and in the villa job.
Well and truly found out
Villa will double whatever he's on now for him to valiantly steer them to 17th.
You're gonna totally fist us on Sunday
If either side is going to get a thorough shafting on Sunday it is us...
In all seriousness I think you'll edge it but it won't be an annihilation.
That three behind Bony will cause so many issues that we're not equipped to deal with and Kompany will come back for y'all and dominate like he always (usually) does in the derby.
I think the more expensive of the two elevens and the side with home advantage will comfortably prove victorious.
Off to the pub now
Hearing a Gilet scored against Spurs
He's back! In Europa League form.
would love to see an english striker do that
Reds come a Klopper?
first one was never a yellow obv but once you've been booked that's...inexplicable
Did they put many first teamers out? I've looked at the lineup and I don't understand who any Tottenham players are.
but Anfield is seriously the quietest ground in the country when Liverpool aren't winning.
That surely goes without saying.
Italy get a total of 6 points (two wins, two draws) / divided by 6 = 1 point.
England gets a total of 7 points (two wins, three draws) / divided by 8 = 0.875
Italy edging a tiny bit closer but a pretty good week for England really.
But this weekend's TV games are all potential humdingers
Arsenal - Everton should be really good, fucking loads of triangles
