Bought good pillows
I outstayed my welcome by at least a year.
altho tbh I think it took me close to a year to realise I didn't give a shit about any of the advantages anymore
and also not bought a home
I had no idea that so many years of feeling like shit were actually down to being hungover most mornigns and then m,aking bad food choices and feeling slughgish all afternoon, rebounding into more booze that ngiht,. And I had no idea how good it feels once you've broken that cycle.
Although, do I really wish I'd known this when I was younger? I had a lot of happy times being a bit of a absolute lush. I think I'd have liked my time in london to have been less boozy- felt like life revolved around work and booze and not much else, which was a waste, although probably not uncommon for people living there.
and am happier now that I've cut back. Also feels a bit like wasted time because while I enjoyed it, it wasn't even adventurous boozing - largely just the same pubs with the same people.
I don't really drink anymore. Well I like a glass of wine but I hate getting drunk now really. I drank way too much when I was at the height of depression whilst still unaware of what was up with me and I just acted totally fucking bonkers/jealous/upset...I wish I'd not been drinking when I was so screwed up. When I was pretty I drank so much and looking back I thought I was being fun but people just must have thought I was a dick.
promise. But I know what you mean, looking back at the perceived perception of others. *gulp*
perceived perception, wow, that's a new one.
I’ve gradually cut down without really noticing. Still drink too much by most reasonable yardsticks and I do still absolutely love the odd session but I’m only hungover about once/twice a month now. Much better. Weekends used to just be for getting fucked up and nothing else. Haven’t replaced it with anything of epic substance or owt, but you just feel… better. It’s good.
learn to skateboard. it's too late for me now.
found some I really like - bought multiple pairs, threw out all my old pants
no such thing as a bad pants day for me anymore
Learned a foreign language
I was genuinely coming back into this thread to say 'i wish that, when I was still young and full of bravado, I had learned to swim properly and fearlessly with my face in the water, as opposed to old lady breast stroke with my chin a good four inches north of the water's surface')
Learned to play drums. Always thought it would be difficult but did it this year and it's really easy, guitar players grow on trees, drummers are needed, too late now though
but I have no where to keep a kit or practice really
I got this (so not real drums but sounds good) it has a really small footprint http://www.gak.co.uk/en/roland-td-1kv-v-drums-kit/95694
got a cat
learned to drive properly (still cant)
learned different knitting stitches
i guess i can still do a lot of stuff so.
didn't get a bill for over a year and just ignored it, then got hit with a 1k bill :(
although I think just under 1k for gas and electricity for 2 people in a 2 bed house for 15 months isn't that bad. just sucks getting it all at once.
Re-tried diet coke - it's really much nicer than full fat
Given up smoking obviously
Took up cycling
Got into Kraftwerk
