people haven't kept food in there for years.
I am one of these people.
I'd love a proper larder.
But I'd call it a pantry
my dad's side of the family do this
none of them have butter dishes though
they decant milk into milk jugs and leave it out by the kettle all day too
and even I know not to take it out of the fridge. It'll curdle fer gawds sake
the jug is cold
it is a tiny milk jug
it's only ever filled up halfway
how tiny are we talking? 100ml? Only halfway? that only 50ml!!!
Otherwise there's literally no point to it.
yeah it's pre-chilled
i don't really get it
my grandparent's only exclusively buy uht milk and evap, though
I feel like im luridly peering through a crack in the curtains
must be like having tea in a travelodge or shit cafe
every cup of team you have
But I reckon the heat from the fire will stop the butter from forming a solid
I think it would burn and become useless
good luck to you dweebs trying to bake with cold butter
When I get to butter dish levels, I'll be sticking with traditional porcelain.
It tastes better and spreads better
