Because we all love a Brewdog thread.
Here's a commentary on the latest happenings:
Until they opened a bar in Brighton and wrote BEER IS ART in large (and kind of crappy) graffiti.... Also they have cages as booths, it's all embarrassing and tacky.
which speaks to how observant I am 'cause I cycle past it every day. So shit!
Real shame if so. Saw some really great gigs on that side of town for years with there, the Freebutt, and the other one that's now a youth hostel that I can't remember the name of... Especially annoying now I actually live nearby.
Which got taken over by Playgroup (who put on some awesome nights in Brighton when I lived there) and then closed down (noise complaints? not actually sure).
But yeh back in the day you had Hector's/Freebutt/Pressure Point right next to each other. Happy days.
Pretty sure they don't sell anything for less than about £4.80 a pint and it really smells of farts in there.
Loads of my colleagues have said they want to go and I'm worried someone will invite me.
(Or, more theatrically, LINK, THEN, TO THIS THREAD!)
"Brewdog probably think they're THIS well someone I know met someone who heard them being THAT."
Internet blah. Cant believe I read it.
I do find them a bit ovnoxious though.
I don't think it's that convincing.
Thy're about as punk as Busted but who cares. It's marketing, it's like complaining that famous grouse isn't owned by the bird on the advert
although I could kind of see why they wouldn't necessarily think it was offensive at first as its focus seems to be on mocking the founders rather than the groups they're depicting.
Never really believed the whole equity for punks thing tbh though, I just like the beer.
In the Merchant City, behind Baccus.
it's going to be a steakhouse restaurant, open plan, so basically you will end up smelling of meat whether you like it or not, which he didn't know when he applied and is a vegetarian. Classy.
my friend, a vegetarian, is duty managing what he thought was just a new bar and only let him know after he accepted the job that they're actually making it into a steakhouse. Not great form.
because why not
anyhow, with the tour you get several beers, then you go to the taproom afterwards and have more beers because there's some you only get at the taproom. started talking to one of the dudes serving beer, about US vs UK beer and how none of the good UK beer makes it Stateside. he asked me what i thought of Brewdog. i told him i thought they should fuck off, to which he laughed and said i'd get on well with their head brewer. so it's good to know that the independent brewing industry still realises that Brewdog are and always have been horrific cunts, making beer for cunts in a cunty way.
