anyone played golf recently?
I'm going to dublin soon, where can i play golf there?
you never stop being complete dogshit, do you? so frustrating (yet still sorta good)
or even just consistently average, I think you have to play and practice so regularly it's just not possible for an average non-retired human to do it.
This year I have upped the amount of times I'm playing per week and now my current handicap is 14.6.
So, a marked improvement.
Next year my aim is to be down to 12.
That's all I have to offer.
I'm great with everything but the driver. That shits too big!!
Until the beginning of this year I couldn't use a driver. Used my 3 wood from the tee. But I persevered and practised at the driving range with the driver and it's now my most reliable club!
i'm terrified of entering a competition because if i do, even if i play my worst ever round I'll win by about 20 shots and be chased off the course by angry members, but that's the way the system works here - everyone starts at 54, no exceptions, no common sense.
so basically i am stuck with it forever. good work golf.
until I'm properly ready. So he says. I am miles better at him when we go to the pitch and putt but I really wanna play a proper game! The closest I've got to the real golf course is he asked if I wanna carry his golf clubs for him one day. NO!
I'm thinking about splashing out on some lessons (haven't had any for years) and get an on the course lesson too.
I'd just go on your own tbh, anyone can get on the course and have a bash as long as they know the basic do's and don'ts (do: let people through if you are holding them up) don't (be a nob)
I just need me some shoes then I'm good to get out there.
We'll have a DiS Scotland golf MEAT
There's loads of cool 9 hole/par 3 more casual courses dotted around!
Haven't played for years though, waiting for my pals to prematurely get middle-aged like I have
Took lessons and hit the range loads but it took me 6 months to get on the course cause I was so shite scared of being terrible. Didn't play for a while then got back into it a year or so ago. Realised its ok to be bad, played every other week over the summer and love it now!
I mostly stick with my irons for now, it's cleaned up my scorecard and I'm really consistent with them (though short). Buying a new driver though so I'm going to get some lessons and actually learn how to use it which will give me most of the basics I think.
We stayed at the nuremore in co. Monaghan and the course was fucking amazing and v. Reasonable so you could have a detour there for a night?
I filtered out all the ones that said "Golf". Which was quite a lot of them.
Assumed they'd be full of tories in pringle sweaters.
lovely course. Lots of deer milling around. Weird clubhouse
A member of Glencorse golf club for years, work kind of stopped me playing. Any good driving ranges in Glasgow?
So long as you get a downstairs berth so to speak
Now i just stick to the shitey courses
I'm rubbish, of course
tempted to do 18 but it's the first time I've been out in 2016 so will probably go for 60 on the range then the par 3 course instead
need to go back there soon
there aren't enough pitch and putts in se london
