Don't like it
It's like when they move the aisles round in Tesco
I. Agree. Fully.
As soon as I downloaded it I noticed every process on my computer slowed down. They changed the windows explorer icons for all the folders and docs etc to be sleeker and more stylized, but I feel like all the graphics are just bogging down performance. Also I definitely don't see the "Search Web or Windows" bar in the taskbar as necessary... I feel like I'd just gotten used to sliding my mouse over to the top right corner to search stuff.
I still really miss Windows 7 :( But, you know, as far as FWPs go, not a bad one.
No can do
to get rid of some of the embedded crap, dont think you can remove that bar though
Search > Hidden
(No, it isn't the VPN thing)
My backup wireless dongle doesn't work with it.
Rolled back to Windows 7 straight away. End times when WiFi works more seamlessly on my Linux install than my Windows one.
i feel like my internet cuts out a lot more since i upgraded but i don't know how that's possible?
What the fuck?
Although I suspect that you would want to be offered it just so you could refuse it
The OS is basically the same it always was (apart from Windows 8, where you just had to learn how to not use any of the new functions to use it like good ol' Windows).
Also noticed that my Ad-block isn't there anymore when I went onto DiS....
came with Windows 8. It was total rubbish. 10 is a slight improvement but 7 is the one that was pretty good in recent times. XP was the best though.
GUI: 10 > 8&8.1 > 95&98 > XP > Vista > 7
UX: XP > 10 > 95&98 > Vista&7 > 8&8.1
Just had flashbacks...
So now the clock isn't in the corner.
The clock belongs in the corner.
There's apparently no simple way to change it.
Fuck off, Bill.
it's good but it doesn't fix this particular problem
On the other hand, GUI: 10 > 8&8.1 > 95&98 > XP > Vista > 7
And I can't be arsed installing classic shell to fix the UX and then dicking around with skins to make it go back to looking like 10.
Think I'll just stick to having a mardy moan and use a workaround of just turning the notifications icon off:
A screenshot of a screenshot. (I was mucking about to see if you could publicly share stuff from within OneNote. You can't, apparently. Then hadn't copped that I'd shared the screenshot of a screenshot rather than the original.)
I've become one of those facebook derps who post whole phonescreen screenshots of facebook and then share that rather than just tap the share button. ...Worse than the office worker derps who share images pasted into a Word doc, rather than just, y'know' the image.
annoying tech GO AWAY
and then an ad popped up asking me to try office for free for 365 days
Notifications now have been disabled because fuck you for trying to sell me shit
Avast is getting a bit too needy, these days, too. Started putting a wanky signature (with embdded images) at the end of my gf's Hotmail messages without permission. wtf.
Naggy apps on Android are rife as fuck.
LinkedIn has infiltrated my mobile's default calendar after an OS update. Haven't even got the LinkedIn app. Must be a Sony-pushed thing?
Linux might be the way out. Though Ubuntu is riddled with Amazon, from what I hear. Mint?
It all makes ye olde RealPlayer look chill in comparison.
but so much of the shit on it bugs up and damages my CPU use. It still feels like that part of the system is trying to destroy the functional bit.
The window snapping thing is pretty neat
Hate the look of the window'd app style bollocks that looks like an xbox. Ugh.
since the change? Pretty treacherous at times, going to inevitably lead to an awkward accidental like/friend request
by that thief (Dollar) Bill Gates. Miss Steve Jobs so much and its a shame he never got to see Dollar Bill get put in prison/jail. All that charity work by $-B is just a smokescreen for when he is arrested FYI
