cleaning ovens and showers/baths
ironing (what's the point?)
I just... ugh... such effort.
(I don't iron the food before I throw it out)
I just don't do it as it's tedious and pointless.
Actually, barely anything domestic beyond cooking requires skill.
Don't get why everyone gets so haughty about it.
too many black electrical products in one room, just looks filthy after a week
it for them
It's just a massive con boring people are sold so they don't off themselves.
Fuck off both of you, really
(SOMEONE had to post this, ffs)
Seriously, there is NO pride to be found in NOT knowing how to look after yourself/be an adult/cook/clean. It isn't cool to be incompetant. (Obviously some things you will have more skill at that others, but nothing is a write-off.)
can cut the lawn but strimming always seems to go wrong, the strimmer stuff goes everywhere, I abandon it and leave for Mr S
everything else I do no problem, including dusting, I even lift and dust under objects AND do the objects themselves!
can't seem to do anything other than completely butcher the lawn with the strimmer. not sure what I'm doing wrong
Just learned this recently.
My strimmer isn't a strimmer because it's got these little disposable blades that break within seconds.
then the lawnmower kind of catches a lot of the strum grass, or at least chops it up.
I used to be shit at it, I would leave gouges in the lawn or it wouldn't chop the grass at all. Then I realised I was holding it at the wrong angle, I was aiming it at the grass instead of holding it in a straight line. Now I can do the whole lot in minutes.
The latter for me. Resent working all day then coming home and doing dometic jobs so just let everything mount up over the course of the week. Get a weird urge to clean when hungover, so normally box it all off in about an hour Sunday lunchtime. It's a flawless system, providing you leave pots soaking and the people you live with aren't boring whingebags.
seriously, does yourr mum still come round to collect your washing? this was a thing 18 months ago..
BACK OF THE NET!
To answer you question, no, i'm quite adept at a 30° wash nowadays. Piece o' piss really, isn't it? Got a bit of a system for my drying aswell - light items get a 45-min tumble dry, heavier stuff out on the maiden (what southern simpletons may refer to as an airer). Completely boxed it.
and often wipe the kitchen surfaces down as I'm a messy cook.
Everything else at the weekend, unless I need specific clothes washing.
My days off are Sunday and Monday. Sunday is "my saturday" so I get all the stuff done I want to - shopping, pub, cycling, see family, etc. Then Monday is my "Sunday" where I just amble about the house tidying crap up.
so I don't have to fester up my days off with it.
But most nights I don't even get in until half 8/9 depending on who/what I'm doing in the evening (maybe later tbh).
If I then make food there's no way I'm doing a bit of a clean at 10 or 11 if I've got work the next day. Life's just too short.
do hoovering dusting additional tidying on the weekend.
you need enough clutter to clear that it'll be noticeable when you clear it, but not enough to make it take ages to clear up.
I like to distract myself with something. Usually a netflix series that the wife does NOT want to watch.
I associate the excellent Daredevil with the smell of ironing now.
I can unfurl the bag, tear along the perforated edge, place it in the bin but cannot make it look neat. Others are able to create this perfect tautness with a knot. Mine looks sloppy and hopeless.
i am utterly utterly hopeless at
My GF can do everything all proper so it looks like what it does in the shops. I try to fold the first t-shirt, take ages, fail miserably then cram everything into drawers with my fists
if that t-shirt of his is anything to go by!
