it's raining. had several people flake out on plans. shop I wanted to go to is shut.
least we're not in work eh guys
been up for an hour because the heat is unbearable.
Moved house to sunny (rainy) Brockley on Friday and have been working ever since so am in a perpetual state of box and bag hell for the foreseeable future.
Gonna chuck him an extra tenner bearing in mind its bank holiday. Then dunno. Just sit around waiting to die I suppose.
Paid £50 to a man with a van to help me move flat. Bargain! Between him taking the stairs two at a time with the heavy boxes and me flouncing along behind with the tea towels and duvet covers, it was done in no time.
Going to do it that way every time from now on.
I have been here since half-six. Nearly finished my ridiculous Deerhunter listening project, just one concert left.
Plenty of burgers
I'm in work, too, although I didn't start until 9. I have a huge pile of albums to listen to, few colleagues to interrupt me and a nice easy final day freelancing.
If anyone's going to TV On The Radio tonight, they were superb last night - kicked off with a drawn-out Young Liars, ended with Staring at the Sun - but there's only one bar open inside the main space at the Roundhouse, so the queues were even longer than usual.
Quite liking the rain, mostly because I've no intention of going out in it.
Gf's friend is coming round this afternoon so I'll have to put trousers on at some point, which is rubbish. Gf is feigning* having done her back in, so I guess facking muggins here is going to be roped into sorting the house out before the friend arrives.
*she's actually in quite a lot of pain
Got soaked by a car driving too fast through a puddle.
Won't be making that mistake again.
got approx zero hours of sleep
two of my fav people finish writing dissertations today so i intend to get drunk with them and attempt not to fall asleep in the pub
The smoke alarm in the hall keeps beeping every 30 seconds or so; it did it all night. I think it's slowly driving me insane
It just meant the battery was running out. I took it down to replace it. Haven't quite got round to it yet...
Except the one upstairs is doing the same thing and it would be weird if both batteries died at the exact same time. These ones are on the mains as well as batteries so I flipped the circuit breaker and took the batteries out. Hopefully I can avoid burning down the house for a bit
New induction material is working quite well.
(hence pissing about on DiS - just like a real working day!)
SUFJAN THIS EVENING THOUGH!!!!!!! :D
as I get a day off in lieu.
however, my meetings for the day are done now, and the internets are quiet because everyone is off.
this place seems cool
only got temporary accommodation until the 14th tho, wonder if there is a way around it?
At a place that usually does really good breakfasts. But for some reason the breakfast was rubbish today. The beans were so vinigery. Pretty much ruined my day already.
Rainy here in the dryest county of the UK too.
Am still in bed. Wish you were all here with me. Except the hot ones obvs.
Think I'll get up and have some frosted shreddies. Half price in my local Tezzas.
it's like 22'C here today.
but no, it's started raining here too
means guilt-free Witcher 3-ing. Also listening to some music I've been working on over the weekend. Can't be arsed with work tomorrow; I think I've finished capitalism or something
making chilli in the slow cooker. never done it this way before, but it makes sense.
expectation levels: high to extremely high
raised too many questions, tbh
I mean, obviously I chop the onions there
Not actually raining here atm, but wouldn't be surprised to get off the train in Cheltenham to face a 40 minute walk to the ground in the belting rain. Not sure I can be arsed with that.
i just woke up. A bit hungover, but in surprisingly good shape. Had a blast at Retrospectacular last night <3
I challenged a guy to a game of gwent after hearing him expostulate emotionally on the mistakes he'd made
In 3 years. Moving out of bed seems like an impossible task. I want to play mgsv but it requires a clear head and movement
Awaiting my seafood paella whilst draining a bottle of Albariño! :)
Quite bad headache and feel a bit sick. Domino's on the way though.
I just sat down with a pizza and a nice little episode of X Files, or so I thought – turns out this one is all about gross parasites and sewers and stuff. Really didn't need that right now
A combination of being bored and a bit lonely despite being around people. And the summer's ending! I'm afraid of winter. Oh well.
Do you think the x files has aged well?
Umm the X Files is definitely very 90s, like amazingly so. Still a really good show, though – and Duchovny and Anderson are really good in it.
Hope your depressing stuff stops being depressing soon
saw some kids across the road giving hassle to some other kids - I thought they'd taken their bike... Anyway I should have kept myself to myself think they're gonna come do me in...
I was just like '... is that not your bike' to the who I thought was the innocent party and she was like '... why?!?' - straight away I knew I had to leave
and they asked if I wanted a bag and I said 'no' and then they handed me the item and the receipt and said "the receipt's in the bag" and now I don't know what to do
Not too hot yet, only 26 degrees. It's not a bank holiday either though. I just got my work permit so sent out a million emails this weekend. Today will mainly be checking for replies every five minutes.
Top priority of the day is sending my Mum a birthday card. I just hope they have a decent express delivery option.
Had to work today as well. Beer and Yo La Tengo are making Monday slightly less painful now.
they're playing in Coventry in the middle of the week, which would be a real bastard for me to manage getting to. One of those bands I'd love to see live
not playing near me this tour which is a shame.
in that this compilation by Bricolage -- a Glasgow-based music / multimedia / art collective started by someone whose music I like on the Soundclouds -- has a track of mine on it: https://bricolagecollective.bandcamp.com/releases
Bunch of other cool artists that'll appeal to DiS types as well -- http://bricolagecollective.blogspot.co.uk/
watched all the bojack horsemans
Sharp improvement after the first couple of episodes. I like it.
now making burgers and sweet potato fries
