There can be no other logical reason for the likes of Kolarov, Mangala, Navas and Sagna suddenly looking like passable Premier League footballers. Could do with a shock defeat to Watford or Palace to restore some sense of reality.
You don't see enough players running the ball in a straight line from one side of the pitch to the other for my liking.
particularly at the prospect of Alexis, Ozil and Ramsey getting at Lvrn & Skrtl.
Prediction: 0-1, Coquelin sent off, Alexis cruciate injury
I hear his dad wasn't even a cunt.
So maybe the name on the shirt is a pre-emptive strike on the kid in case he ever becomes a 'legendary number 7' anywhere
got their first win on saturday, crowd of just under 3k too.
how did man utd's new legendary number 7 get on against newcastle?
Like the rest of the boring, boring bastards
The problem's with Rooney though, the lack of threat behind is killing us, so easy to defend against
Saw the same when Aguero went off for city yesterday when they had to pass it around like twats at the edge of the box because there was no threat in behind, difference was that they found an exquisite pass and we didn't
Being pessimistic. Lvg says everything is fine
If you look at United's form over their last 10, 20, 30 league games they're on a par with Chelsea and City. Their issues are pretty specific - their Chief Exec's a noddy, their most high-profile player's gone on strike since his latest new contract, and the football's dire. The first two are issues that can swiftly be sorted out. The latter one is irrelevant when going for a title, as Chelsea have proven post Ancelotti and United since Ronaldo went to Spain.
Neymar and bale to utd. And lvg says utd don't need a striker..
Lion heart John Terry probably will be in Mls next year
He was only asking how the best young player in the world played, mate, calm down.
As if #goingup
Had feared we'd slightly overpaid.
red button i assume
quite excited, i've wanted a feature like that for ages
Channel 59 on freeview, free to air, no subscription needed.
6 minutes of pure gold.
Reminded me of this - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xmWXVHBo84A
is what you should really be talking about.
Had it all. Wilson hat-trick, Pugh now has a goal in every division, Max gradel appears to be able to run faster than Usain Bolt, West ham like really hilarious defending, Cherries up and running, and looking totally badass.
Main learning from the last two West Ham matches though is just how bad Arsene Wenger is at tactics.
It's blindingly obvious that the opposition having any width at all is like kryptonite to this West Ham team with the way we're lining up at the moment and there were six competitive games pre-season for anyone to spot that. Really hope Gollivan pull their sticky finger out before the end of the transfer window or it's going to be a long old season.
West Ham's defending was a bit too 'suspicious betting patterns' to make it a real humdinger. Nice to see Kevin Nolan as a centre-forward again though, must have seen Allardyce was doing MOTD and wanted to impress him.
He now plays exclusively as a deep-lying midfielder, which given his one definable asset was poaching in the box, makes him almost completely pointless.
They did it yesterday on the highlights with the West Brom midfield, it was only minor but enough to properly irk me.
They had West Ham playing 4-3-3, when it was definitely either 4-3-2-1 or 4-4-1-1.
Although tbf didn't seem like any of the players knew what system they were meant to be playing either.
but I still cant get over that "Eddie Howe popped his cherry" comment at the end of MotD
Should now fucking love us for loaning the, Fraser and giving Pitman away....oh, and the 3.5mil up top for mings
absolute bargain mate, great signing.
We seem to be after Grabban again. Not sure why.
Big question, where is TK going on loan? My guess is someone shit in League One, or back to Malmo.
other than sentimentality? Or cuz Howe thinks he can get him playing well again?
you're not even trying these days.
Their combination of forwards is great, and their keeper + back 4 is back to being about as good as two years ago, with Luis back and Jiminez looking like the best young defender in the world. Best manager too.
Barca should / will win it if they can keep their best XI fit for long spells, but they've got a pretty threadbare squad til January, and some of their most important players are already suspended and injured for big games. I'd fancy Atletico to beat them in a few weeks without Busquets, Alves and Pique.
Given the fixtures and circumstances, I think Barca should be satisfied-ish if they're within 6-8 points of Madrid at the midpoint and their squad looking back to full strength. Given the difference in their fixtures yesterday, being two points ahead already is quite big really.
Some people seem to frown upon teams playing counter-attacking football, being well drilled on set-pieces and being ultra well orgnised, as if they're attributes top sides shouldn't require.
Course, there's a world of difference in someone like Simeone building a side and doing it, and Mourinho spending a billion pound and still needing to.
Can't say I was too excited by watching Atletico beat Getafe or whoever 1-0 on a match-by-match basis, but cumulatively to do it so often and effectively is/was so impressive. Their performances against Barca (mostly draws, no losses) that season were ridiculously impressive from a defensive point of view, and they've put in some right performances against Real last few years too. Demolishing Chelsea in the champions league semi that season too. Still absolutely gutted they didn't win the final.
Think their football should be a little more expansive this year, (Oliver) Torres seems like a really exciting but un-Simeone like player being given a chance, and with him and Koke behind Martinez/Griezmann/Vietto they should thrash a few teams this season.
vermaelen was weirdly really great yesterday. barca's motm
further to your prediction that Atletico will win La Liga, I think it'll finish like this:
Can't say they've been inspiring in the market, but if they sign Garay they'd be no worse than last season really. Champions League distraction could cost them I suppose. I hope Athletic/Villareal do push them and Sevilla though (+Malaga / Sociedad?)
and I think Valencia will struggle to score goals. I think thats more how I hope it'll finish tbh, but Sevilla, Athletic and Villarreal have all either improved their squads or kept them more or less the same (IMO)
David Moyes saying that Sociedad are aiming for champs league football is a bit of a joke to be honest. It looks like they're going to sign Illaramendi but it wont make that much of a difference.

this is new!
Story's based entirely on some guy pretending to be an Italian journalist on Twitter and I don't really want us to sign Benzema anyway, but I've decided to get on board with this just because I like the idea of a €300m (all in) signing being paraded in the pissing rain to about 4,000 people while everybody is still crowding off the Tube or queuing up to pay £6 for a pint of Carlsberg.
but I don't reckon Benzema is really an upgrade on Giroud. A bit more athletic, but his goal return in the league is on a par with Giroud, and one of them will end up on the bench and lose form. Would be a lot of money to spend on squad depth. Reckon getting more goals from the three behind the striker is the way to go, either with a signing or just shouting at the current players until they get better.
He strikes me as being a very, very similar player to Giroud - strong, good hold up play, more of a link player than an out and out striker etc. Obviously he's better at all those things, but not sure it's by enough to make the difference or warrant bunging ¥500,000,000,000 on.
Also still not entirely comfortable with buying massive, 'marquee' players, but I think that's probably just a sort of high-horse induced Stockholm Syndrome
A zero goal THRILLFEST.
It was actually ok, Jurado is everywhere all the time and has great eyebrows, as previously noted. Deeney still hasn't done ANYTHING.
Away to City next week, we're going to get decimated
think i'll have a couple of beers

CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THE NERVE OF THIS GUY
Would've been a cracking opportunity for some moral oneupmanship and really dull analysis
An excellent summer, but for the huge gaps remaining in our squad.
when 80-85% of deals with add-ons are never fully realised. Surely you knew that?
you can stop playing Navas now, Manny.
He really is a bellend
Three standout moments for me
"Clubs in the Championship seem content to go hell for leather at the moment too. Last week they all bid £9m for Andre Gray in scenes reminiscent of that Peep Show episode where everyone tries to get each other sectioned"
and having to organise when your mam's getting her hair done.
The powers that be have decided you'll be rich beyond your wildest means, you're in good nick physically and women are tripping over themselves to sleep with you, but yer ol' queen's still knocking about telling you off for not seperating your dark socks from your white shirts.
This is the only place I can enjoy the build up for now.
Is Sturridge still alive?
- - - - de gea
jones smalling blind shaw

all setting up nicely for Man U to 'Willian' Tottenham by the end of the week
so... I think you're safe.
Brutal double-blow for Spurs.
Would take him tbh, he's rapid.
then we just need a starting striker and we're golden.
will make LVG's comments about only signing a world class striker even more silly but after Wednesday and Saturday's games I reckon even he would've seen another and we'll chuck £30m at West Brom.
a cool 190 euros.
...and people have the nerve to slate Red Ed's negotiationg skills.
Must admit this one's got more than a whiff of United fans annual "Nike will probably be picking up the tab anyway" tribal football/space cadet tale about it.
bet he's shit
liverpool could get a few goals here, even if there midfield is quite defensive. could see the Middle getting very congested.
and bore you stupid.
If this continues they could get 5th this season.
he gets to the ball
And that was onside as fuck
of not passing it to the other team
i can see us shitting ourselves and giving away a tap in, but fucking hell.
In the 2nd haaarff
So very, very much. I hope common sense prevails and he doesn't leave.
against us when the rest of the team are fucking terrible.
Chambers is having a shocker, but that's why he's 4th choice, I guess.
He's not even on a par wih Coutinho, ffs.
and the rest
didn't you see that lovely dead ball chipped perfectly into mignolets arms? Takes practice that!
yes, your much better team will underachieve massively, but you can take solace in the fact that you narrowly beat us to 4th place
I thought they were all terrible?
last time round ;)
is getting massacred by coutinho and co.
how benteke doesnt finish that i've no idea but thank fuck cech's seemingly remembered that he's not manuel almunia.
we surely can't be that bad again second half?
Hammez making all the difference
..cos i found that quite boring.
özil is clearly a #player but fuck me, does he just give up if things don't work out.
Looks way too good to be a Liverpool fullback.
Our Charlton correspondent is banned for some reason or other, but yeah he's looked superb so far. Going to make the most of his couple of good years before he hits the Kyle Walker plateau of the modern English fullback.
looks like a young Steven Mangan
If so that's a good comparison.
but he is trying Wayyyyyyyy too hard :-|
cleared up with some antibiotics though
The big fucking German flag? Bants.
God I'm bored
Liverpool won the first half (apart from the wrongly disallowed goal), Arsenal won the second half, draw a fair result. Still annoying though.
Liverpool pretty dominant.
The new centre back pairing was always going to need a bit of time to settle. Still think we need a couple of more quality additions to challenge for the title. Liverpool looked pretty ordinary except Coutinho who I suspect may be the next player to leave if he continues in this form.
he most would have to liked to play with.
Hope plenty of Liverpool fans were still watching.
haven't you all got better things to do? you should have
