didn't have as much money then.
Had a Hache burger the other day with a bricohe bun, it was like two slabs of victoria sponge round my burger. Appalling.
shouldn't be too sweet though.
and - I can't overstate this enough - toasted. Makes such a massive difference, and they toast so nicely because of the egg.

Like square plates or sundried tomatoes. Or in rthe 80s, olives. Or that fucking melted cheese dip shit people are in the 70s.
Today food trends are all about "rustic grub" promoted by people like Jamie Oliver. So now we pay £12 for sausage and mash or a fish finger sandwich served on a slate in a pub full of mismatch furniture, bookcases and fucking bunting.
Want fish and chips? That'll be £15 and we'll stand the fish up against a metal bucket which has your chips in it whilst you drink down a £5.50 pint of craft ale called Keep Calm and Drink On or whatever.
