Any Other Boas?
Testament to BT Sport's decision making that he's only the 4th worst thing about their coverage (Ian Darke, Fletch & Sav, Howard Webb's Truck of Judgement)
depay's goals were good last night
I hate Michael Owen.
Shame he skied that one for the hat-trick. Coupled with the miss against Villa, I wonder if he's going to be scoring more worldies than easy finishes this year.
Not sure what to make of Utd yet this year - there always looked to be the potential for calamity yesterday. Don't think there was a single player who didn't at some point play a hospital pass to set up a Brugge opportunity. But at the same time, it's 3 from 3 and yesterday should give that bloke who looks like a footballer a lot of confidence.
A mascot that looks like it wants to run up and tear your balls off.
The kid in the 9th/10th pic looks shit scared
what were they thinking!
here's an opportunity to allow one of our only famous fans to expose his work and get some publicity to an otherwise relatively small football team in Glasgow oh wait I'm being needlessly defensive about one of my 26 teams again
LOOK AT IT
I'm genuinely proud that a team support took such a bold and hilarious decision in a sport that quite often takes itself too seriously, and given Thistle are known for having a bit of a self-detrimental sense of humour, he us perfect for us.
the accompanying article with the guy who "plays" him is great: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/18/kingsley-mascot-partick-thistle-david-shrigley-football-hero
even though his name reminds me of the twatty one out of fresh meat. yeah I know *which twatty one?*
I went to the launch of Partick Thistle Nil's new strip and kingsley was there. Kingsley is cool.
but I think if you look at his start at man u - including last night, on balance with the two sitters - he's not been brilliant yet.
comparisons to ronaldo/cantona ffs
Was listening to FiveLive on the way home from the match and the two conclusions reached were:
- Depay is the new heir to the number 7 shirt
- Rooney is now crap
but I'd wager he could have a similar impact for United as Hazard has had at Chelsea over the next few years. Comparisons to Ronaldo are silly, but inevitable.
pretty much everything he did last night was a variation of first touch>away from his man>shoot. he looked good and the second goal was a brilliant finish but i cant help thinking he'll be afforded 5 shots on goal a game in the league. being on the left looks a massive improvement for him.
i hate the man but almost feel a bit sorry for rooney. must be a bit shit to be one of the longest serving players, on the most money, and yet not really merit your place in the side. worse still is everyone knows it, must be awkward in the dressing room.
is credit a footballer (and not just any footballer, but Wayne 'The Big Man' 'Wazzaldinho' Rooney) with self-awareness.
Anyway, he always does this right? Comes back from summer/injury looking off the pace and with no discernible first touch, then at some point he'll actually get fit and end up with 15-20 goals in time for lots of think pieces about how the Euros could be a career defining tournament for him
I think i'm gonna love him. He'll be getting booed at every away game by christmas and doing his silly dance infront of them, can't wait.
Having it on his shirt was bad enough (yes, I know he had a good reason) but commentators should call him Depay.
Chicarito on the back of his shirt tbf.
anyone that deliberately doesn't recognise it clearly thinks deadbeat absent fathers are great (and hates their abandoned children).
But the fact it's Memphis reminds me of that boring pillock from school who changed their middle name on Facebook to Jägermeister when they went to uni. Yes, he has his reasons, but I still think he's a prat.
probably chosen by his dearest mother.
why do you harbour such irrational hatred for Memphis and his poor, long suffering mother?
Throw the book at her
I don't want there to be one
But I know there should be one

Nice work Wooders
I heard they were in for him, but I also heard we'd agreed a fee. sure I saw something about him actually wanting to come here (despite being warned about LVG).
idk, the tea leaves are difficult to read.
reveals the source to be Marca, and the fee to be 28m (+2). doubting the source, and also assuming the fee to be Euros, which means the initial fee is under the release clause. I read that Ed Wood had agreed on 22m (pounds).
really want to see Darmian and Shaw up against some quality wingers, as they've looked really solid so far this season but haven't been tested that much defensively so hard to judge their level.
should probably just play Fellaini up front tbh.
for the pleasure of a stream that is considerably shitter than i can get from some dodgy Russian website.
and it was awful. Wasn't my internet as everything else (legal and not) streams perfectly. Now I just pay for the sport package on the tv. Wankers.

Stupid £80m offers for players we'll never get (Bale, Muller) and then trying to haggle with barca over a million or two causes us to lose a player the manager actually said he wanted by name to someone we should be challenging for the title.
I dunno if it's something that other fans just don't complain about (very possible as they're not such spoilt bastards for the most part) but we really do seem staggeringly incompetent at getting deals done
And all their fans spend ages going on about how uniquely incompetent their Board are at getting transfers done too.
rather than him wanting them and the board not being able to get them done.
We had plenty of chances to moan about the manager not wanting the signings during Fergie's latter years in fairness.
still, at least won't be pushing Jamjar Jazz Hands into youth alcoholism and relegation.
it was a thriller, apparently
dorus de vries is a bad, bad man obv
Starting to grow a bit thin mind. Least we have one of our good CBs back.
But I want Kenwyne. I want Sammy. LIVE A LITTLE, SLADE.
Willian, Falcao, Fabregas, Rooney, Pedro etc.
He doesn't even want Pedro
Though at this stage he probably just wants whatever he can get his hands on, then he can worry about whether or not he's actually going to play them or not later
as it makes me think both United and Chelsea are prime for egomaniac-manager-related meltdowns this year.
Just a matter of time before he falls out with everyone [read: Rooney] and flounces off in a huff.
Turns out he's even more undroppable now than he was before :(
They know if he doesn't play he'll just Bogarde it up in the reserves for a few years before fucking off to the MLS. He's too expensive not to start.
I'm only 9 seconds in and I can't watch any more.
with the massive polo player logo
like a pretty boring but perfectly fine, professional, presenter suited to sky.
he's been pretty much the most excruciating man in history since though. like a weird old hybrid of michael owen and jeremy clarkson
Wouldn't be opposed to it, the sort of signing we used to make all the time, young, domestic experience, would need to make a step-up and crucially he's fucking rapid which we really lack.
Doesn't matter that he's not good enough for City, Chelsea or Arsenal, the best signings aren't always the best players available. They have one glaring weakness - pace upfront, and there's not a quicker striker in the league. Obviously we all hope Woody leaves it til the last minute and offers the family silver, but he's a player which would hugely improve them. It'd be a sign of progression in thinking from them anyway, 'What do we actually need?' rather than 'Who's the most expensive player we could realisically convince to come?'.
Even now they pay much huger salaries than all of their competitors and are back in the Champions League you could make an amazing XI of SNUBBAGE this summer, like any.
But on the other hand, you are paying £200k a week to some kid with one decent season under his belt.
Most of them play for 2 or 3 clubs.
It's even cheaper than Sterling
Sterling was €49m not £49m (making it a complete bargain!) but the Benzema offer has still been reported as £48m everywhere
is that it's perked up the Chelsea fan at work no end. He's been going round with a face like a slapped arse and studiously avoiding any talk about football the last 10 days. I'd been hoping that this would last at least until the West Brom game.
When United sign Muller, C Ron and Ramos.
we were never able to just sign *anyone*. no doubt we've lost a bit of glamour since Fergie left, but it's not as if we were raiding the rest of the old G14 when we were in CL finals every year.
you are tuned into United Chat.
we're discussing the best moments of 'Cooking with Jesper', Blomqvist's MUTV cookery series.
