and it's too bright out.
how are you? etc.
It's horrendous here, got utterly soaked on the way to work. Haven't seen rain like this in years. I'm a bit worried about the city flooding if it stays like this.
Otherwise I'm in great form, had a house party at the weekend, kissed a nice girl, saw some photography exhibitions and finished Hadley Freeman's new book. A1 weekend, would weekend again.
I'm full of dread about pretty much everything.
Relationship dread not so much, but general life wtf should I do because every option looks to ruin my life dread
Hope you're ok UP <3
I'm ok, just got a tough week of work ahead and cba. the dread I feel for it is worse than the practical reality will be!
Are you ok? sometimes things just feel futile and options seem pointless, but you do need to believe that there are choices you can make which make a difference.
*shakes pompoms* x
not a good start to the week.
also fully expecting to be made redundant on thursday.
Chin up sheeldz
DiSers don't quit, quitters don't DiS
things are looking more positive on the job front, so we will see.
But you're a fab guy with loads of experience so I'm sure someone will snap you up fast on the job front :-)
If I had control of this site I'd put in code to automatically turn any occurrence of 'grexit' into 'Greece's possible exit from the Eurozone and/or the European Union altogether'. Code trollin'.
(Once used a forum that automatically changed Brian Blessed to BRIAN BLESSED.)
and I'm cooking pasta sauce on one hob, chicken vindaloo on another, and listening, for the first to I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass.
'Pass The Hatchet I Think I'm Goodkind' was the first YLT song I ever heard.
I really feel like I recognised Sometimes I Don't Get You - as soon as it started, I thought "Oh, this is YLT" - but have got no idea when or where, and I would have sought it out if I had actually heard it.
Good Monday morning music!
and disagree with everything.
Sound pretty fun.
"No it isn't, no we're not and I don't want to."
Full report later, yeah?
It's not until 2.
I'll be preparing until then by humming loudly.
Wearing a new shirt this morning.
Spent the weekend doing interview prep, seeing friends and watching lots of Hannibal (Season 1). He scares me.
Prolly seeing daughter type thing tonight.
Lovely Saturday in the sun. Went to Hever Castle, which is in beautiful grounds and ate a huge amount of ice cream. Then played that there dinosaur adventure golf near Sidcup (think PN went there recently?)
Sunday was mega lazy trying to get my hayfever to calm down by staying inside.
Been cycling and climbing this morning. Starting the week off with a bang. It's all downhill now...
I forgot on Sunday one of our garden fox cubs had to be taken away by the RSPCA. It couldn't walk any more as its hind legs gave way every time it stood up. It's mum and sibling looked so concerned :(
- my birthday
- Suicide (the band)
- 3 day week
and ta :) gonna be the ripe old age of 28... quite like this being old(er) malarkey.
Can't touch this.
i'm not feeling it today, ended up having a few vinos yesterday and slept terribly.
that being said, today is my thursday as i am coming down to london town on wed! canny wait! :)
went to see sauna youth on sat night, and they were brilliant.
saw Bjork in Manchester last night. Wonderful woman. Sound was a bit shit though. Great visuals n that. Army of Me and Bachelorette were nice surprises.
I'm gonna try and lay off the booze for a while now, it's getting a bit silly. I start piano lessons tomorrow too so that'll be my new vice...
Had a pretty decent weekend all round. Went to the Sausage & Cider Festival on Saturday: ate some good sausage and drank some good ales whiles girating wildly to some fairly impressive tribute acts. I looked good on the dancefloor whilst dancing to The Antarctic Monkeys and whilst jumping around to The Jilted Generation I smacked my bitch up.
my current work now know that I've had one interview elsewhere and have another on Friday. so pretty much need to get one of these jobs else I'll be mocked mercilessly. then I've channelled the collective forces of Sheffield to destroy the DiS football team on Saturday, which will be a laugh.
wasn't really up for today but there's lots of negative chat going round at work already about possible office moves (central London to just outside Gatwick, that'll go down well), people arguing over who gets to sit at a particular desk, and other petty stuff people are getting worked up about. might offer to go sit somewhere else and just put my headphones on and ignore everyone all day.
saw I'd been invited to a meeting at 9am, ran into the room a few minutes late, sat at the back, realised two minutes in that the invite was a a meeting at 9am Monday next week, then had 20 minutes of deciding whether to fake a phone message a slip out, laugh and confess my error, or just sit there and pretend like I wanted to sit in on a sales meeting that had nothing to do with me.
I did the last one.
on my knee and my ankle, SO SORE.
Went to get some clothes yesterday and it was so depressing. I absolutely hate going into shopping centres. If I end up working in one again you all have permission to kill me. Quit drinking as I was looking at a bottle of beer on Friday and just didnt fancy it. Hardly drinking anymore anyway so hardly a chore.
I have a dodgy stomach and haven't eaten anything in 48 hours. But I feel oddly chipper and I'm about to attempt to have a banana. Wish me luck.
I went to the Labour hustings in Cardiff yesterday and came away...strangely optimistic. I am not familiar with this feeling.
Slovenia is really good and I had a nice holiday thanks for asking. The best thing is there are almost no British tourists so probably best to go soon before people like you ruin it.
couldn't remember what I needed to pack in my cycle bag for work and as a direct consequence my trousers are falling down (I forgot to pack my belt, you see)
Didn't check what size it was before buying it because why would I bother doing something like that and ripped off all the tags before putting it on because why the hell not and anyway if any fat person wants a nice belt (three horizontal stripes, red white blue, leather bit at the end) just let me know cheers
My weekend was really good. My hands hurt from using my new bike but WHO CARES.
Theatre tonight, obviously. Going to York tomorrow and got Friday off so dunno what today is really.
Whilst on a date. Went outside, lost my balance slightly and ended up putting my hand in a plant pot. Saw someone watching me so sort of tried to sell it by just looking really interested in the soil. Then went to see a band called crywank, they didn't live up to the name.
Saturday drank wine in the sun, got a heat rash which doesn't hurt so don't matter. Yesterday Jesus and Mary chain, was awesome. And now, now.
thought they were great fun!
But I was really only at this show for Jordaan Mason & the Horse Museum and was sort of hoping crywank were more of a Ronseal band
after I left though
But as you may imagine due to what happened earlier in the evening my memories are sort of hazy.
keep your ear to the ground
maybe the best thing I've ever read, ever.
Quick, look fascinated by the soil!
BUT a barmaid gave me free chips because I "look like I could do with it". I reaaaaally fancy the girl I was with too, but it was sort of her fault on accounts of her vaporiser. Ah well.
One particular highlight was going to London to meet my dad and his family who were there on holiday, and lying to them by telling them I had to get a Megabus back to Manchester at 4.30 when really I had made plans to go on a date and then get my train back to Manchester at 8.30.
My dad, thinking this cut short our time together insisted on escorting me to Victoria from Stratford to get on a coach I had no ticket for, that I had no intention of getting. So, so, awkward.
(in some way I can't possibly imagine)?
past the coach and looped back around the concourse to beat them to the exit. Then had to liaise with my brother for the rest of the day to be kept up-to-date of their whereabouts so we didn't cross paths.
My brother and his girlfriend knew what I was up to and didn't help one bit, the bastards. They were encouraging everyone to accompany me back to the coach station, whilst trying to hide their delight. Fuckers.
Good weekend, bad shoulder/neck. Bloody kills.
+ Went to Southampton for a friends birthday
+ Had all you can eat Brazilian food
+ Came in this morning to a DVD of Beadle's About
- Aforementioned Shoulder/Neck
- Only had 2 hours sleep Saturday night
- Managed to destroy my phone without even dropping it or anything (screen came flying off on Friday)
+ Just had a message to confirm my Phone is fixed
your perversions are becoming increasingly left-field
I'm the enabler.
THANK FUCK. annoyingly it is absolute anarchy here this week so I can't just switch off, just five days to get through though.
will just try and forget about it for now
Went for park beers with a few people on Friday, F_C included. Didn't end particularly well for either of us because we're silly lightweight babies.
Saturday went for drinks and dinner, heard a bit of the Kendrick set from where we were drinking, just made me more jealous!
Did nothing but play PS4 and read Sunday, also ordered a huge curry all for me. Still loads left for dinner tonight.
My workload is beyond stupid this week. Whoops.
I have 33 unique beers to add to Untappd, not including doubles and bog standard beers I've had before (though this includes one beer festival and one tasting night).
But I'm not a QUITTER, so onwards and upwards.
for not having untappd connected to your twitter.
"Strong pine nose, touch of honey in the malt, I am so lonely, please send help, big citrus aftertaste."
THOSE DOGS THOUGH
I probably would have had a much better time of it, yes.
such a good night for dogs.
Weekend was good thanks. Went out on Friday, had one of the worst tasting pints ever but the barman was too friendly for me to complain so we just chased them down with all of the shots. Felt horrific the next morning.
Saturday I saw some family who were over from Norn Iron. My 4 year old cousin's accent is so ridiculously thick I couldn't understand anything he was trying to say. He was hilariously pissed off with me by the end of the day.
Yesterday went to the gym and watched The Drop which was alright.
I have tonsilitis AGAIN! This is like the 3rd time this year. Friday was the first day I felt so much better about a lot of stuff....then my tonsils are like "you've forgotten about us!" Appointment at Drs at 1 so will be feeling a little better once I get antibiotics in.
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!
I got taken to the captains day at the golf club on Saturday evening. It was fun. I had some nice salmon.
My housemate keeps getting fucking tonsilitis as well, seems awful. Hope the antibiotics sort you out x
which is making the exact noise that ridley from metroid makes
freaking me out, maaan
it's only to gloucestershire for a few days but last time i went on holiday was 2009 so i am quite excited. it's going to rain but you've got to expect that with holidays in the uk really
Which is a relief as it was getting expensive at the other place and running low on Money a bit, luckily accommodation is free as just set up a tent next to the people who are queuing for Wimbie Tickets, I know it is a bit cheeky but I am poor. Not been able to contact my dad as my phone has been cut off, probably by him in anger for me not turning up for my work shifts, the worst thing about my phone being cut off was the Wimbie people (Wimbledonners?) wouldnt have been able to phone me to tell me 'its on' so was getting a bit stressed/crying until a nice man told me I should sit outside their admin office for 'the call' which to be honest if probably the best ever advice someone has given me, so much for 'The Angry London' you hear so much about.
But thanks anyway for the sound advice. The nice man who helped me earlier is letting me use his phone now to check internet etc which is really nice of him to do he also said 'No payment required' then raised his eyebrows, winked and touched his mustache with a pinky finger of both hands, its amazing how kind he has been to me.
outfit for me so due to their rules and regulations I am not allowed to do it, they offered me tickets to watch it but not really much a fan of the actual tennis part of tennis so just asked if I could have the value of them in cash, they did not want this to happen and had me escorted out, tried to get them to find the man with the mustache as I know he would have helped me but they said no-one of that description has ever worked for them (ghost?). I really thought this was going to be my big chance to be happy again and now have to get the bus back up the road , probably going to cry all the way up.
Technically sound and generally just a really friendly person. Also went to draughts Saturday evening, won at Settlers of Catan.
Spent a lot of Sunday doing grown up stuff (chores and laundry), working out some house details and spoke to my folks, training tonight with this lady http://www.pennythomasjiujitsu.com/.
I was quite tempted but I was being a bit moody on Sunday and ended up staying at home...it was their only UK date -_-.
Had the most amazing drive from Oslo up to Volda, like properly breathtaking scenes

Post my hospital visit with broken lung disease (I believe that’s what they called it). Should be fun, but I'll probably give sparring a miss.
London seems quiet, or is it just me?
Weekend was hit and miss. The love interest isn't interested so ate lots of hotdogs and drank some beer to numb the pain and celebrate America on Saturday. Listened to loads of The Magnetic Fields. Think I'm over it, but we'll see. Binge watched the first series of True Detective over the Saturday/Sunday night/morning.
Went to a meal with my housemates yesterday and sorted out a couple of dates for this week. One's tomorrow evening and they live on the road next to mine. This is going to be interesting.
Today looks alright.
Then I'm going to go home, listen to some LPs and drink some wine.
i'm definitely aff the booze tonight
So that's definitely going to result in drinking.
