and then being bitterly disappointed when i finally got it)
That was sick.
Never managed to shoot every single ship in the two levels - always one away. Wondered if there was an Easter Egg for completing it?
I never did it either.
i'm gonna play it, love that game
Abe's exodus is being remade as well <3
despite them being possibly the most pointless games ever
For 2quid thither week, a few annoying design choices aside they still hold up fairly well
step into this ah... vortex thingy-maginy - but first let me tell you a story
"uh, no thanks!"
*repeatedly headbutts talking creature standing by the gate*
really liked it, shame the last mission was absolutely impossibly hard
rules is rules
one was a side scrollin platformer...main guy was pink haired. Tombi, justy remembered it
other was Kula World
and no-one's mentioned PaRappa the Rapper yet.
Shame on you all.
Metal Gear Solid
The only two that haven't aged dreadfully
That NetYarozee demo disc full game. AMAZING!
On a side note. RESIDENT EVIL!
I'd save if I were you
One of my all time ridiculous faves :D
Played so much of this in college.
On which somebody shares their various trips. I'd link to it, but I'm at work.
one of my favourite games ever I think.
but both amazing.
with the discs that smelled of tyres and that Suzuki hill climb car that was the best by miles
any track, any character, you're going down.
just throwing that out there, yeah??
Quite unutterable drivel.
Besides, it's the battle arenas that sort the men out from the boys.
this came out when I was thirteen or something. it's hardwired into my brain in place of maths or something.
and in my experience, battle mode was just for people on the verge of tears because I'd done them so comprehensively in proper races.
umm... Oxide Station, mVIII.
p, you're talking to a man who, for reasons that now escape me, felt it was important to collect all the buggering platinum relics from the relic races, and duly did so. Eventually. It wasn't even fun in the end.
Frankly, what with this, Toca 2 and Champ Man, it's fairly astonishing I got a degree at all.
come back when you've beaten some of Oxide's Time Trials.
he also says he'll give you a headstart if you want to race. really sassing you, proper insouciant.
there it is!
I remember creating a decent sounding instrumental Daft Punk rip-off when I was about 12
It was like Music but with a dolphin underwater and you could make amazing ambient sounds.
did that come out over here?
So many glorious wasted hours...
would quite like to break it out with the old multi-tap, maybe do some four-player pogo painting? or the one where you hurled boxes at each other.
and that one where you knocked each other off the arena :D
Excellent Zelda like
no mug of ale for a weary traveller from distant Coorhagen?!
the tomb raiders
james pond 2: robocod
& medal of honor (their spelling)
used to be SO good at this, apart from triple jump where I was merely pretty good. always annoyed me so much.
Never been updated have they? I'd definitely play them again
According to Wiki they were working on the another one, Future Strike which eventually evolved into Future Cop LAPD. The series died after that.
The best one was definitely Jungle Strike. You could blow up the White House in the first level; blew my mind when I was 10.
I'm getting the soundtrack mixed up with something called Test Drive 5?
I have no recollection of that^
Probably the PS1 game I sunk most time into
Colin McRae Rally
Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball
was probably the best racer on the PlayStation. Colin McRae's bagpipe player used to buy CD's from the record shop I worked in at the time and he gave me a copy of the game. I played it with a bunch of mates thinking it'll be rubbish - but it was great. Those initial rolls where you lose control and occasionally the car lands back on the road fully. Very immersive.
There was a mode in 2-player where you could launch fireballs at the opposing car. Absolutely hilarious and utterly pointless because the races just descended into mayhem.
Don't think the gaming audience was ready for it yet.
honestly think it's a criminally underrated game, definitely not nostalgia doing it's thing no sir-ee
THE definitive snowboarding game. None of that flashy SSX nonsense
SSX Tricky was/is the best snowboarding game ever. Along with SSX 3 maybe.
The SSX series taught me about life and how to live it.
doing some endless grind/manual combo with flairs and triple tailwhips and other ridiculous shit thrown in to 'Positive Contact', 'Banned in D.C.' and 'B.O.B.', mates.
better than Tony Hawk because bikes > skateboards.
bought this again recently and didn't like it as much as I remembered, put THPS in straight after and had a lot more fun with that :/
great soundtrack though!
Bets multi-tap game ever.
couldn't really pull off FPS - especially after a blast on Goldeneye
As was Medal of Honour. Nothing could really compete with GoldenEye though.
I can't think of the name, it was class though
But the best game ever was Twisted Metal 2:World Tour. The destructible scenery that changes the level - you could drive up the eiffel tower once it was knocked over. The special moves. Cracking, but only on co-op; me and my mate played through it a billion times.
WCW Backstage Assault
ECW Anarchy Rulz
still finish this at least once a year. Normally while playing Teenage Fanclub for some reason.
