It's a different word.
Next you'll be telling me that you believe them when they say that "I could care less" is supposed to be sarcastic.
until I try and imagine them saying it like we do. Doesn't work at all, in fairness to them.
*The American pronunciation
they make Jason Statham say it like they say it and it sounds ridiculous.
A good reason to not watch a Jason Statham film.
THAT WAS IT
knew I had heard this recently somewhere
something about how it means something different in Britain. I mean, if you're going to then have a big discussion about the word, they could have taken the 4 seconds to explain the difference in pronunciation as well. It's like that weird bit in Thor 2 where they pointlessly disregard the pretty well known geography of London by claiming that Greenwich is just up from Charing Cross. Just kind of jarring.
He made up for it with that scene where he didn't understand that he was on a lake though. And also the speech about reattaching his dismembered arm with his other arm.
they're even talking about the difference in UK/US meanings. Surely the Stath would've told them that it's pronounced with the A it's spelt with.
they call Sean Connery's character English. What's the point? He can be Scottish, he sounds Scottish. Why didn't he take twenty seconds to explain to the filmmakers that the natural reaction to the bad guy calling him English would be to correct him and THEN kick the shit out of him?
Turns out Hollywood is fucking evil. Who knew?
there was a vote and everything
don't see how you can pronounce it any other way than 'twat'
but a unit of power is called a watt?
like, it means your grousebox, and also being a dipshit. is there another?
Some people will tell you it's a piece of nun's clothing but they're wrong.
some american friends hear me say it, then try and say it but they cant say it right.
*pronouncing words wrong
they don't call a hat a "hahd".
you forgot the link
I did briefly consider something similar, but refrained.
all the time.
I. Really. Don't. Care.
vocaroos of them almost nailing the vowel sound, followed by them celebrating by hooting like a gibbon
