Are they happening in your office?
Two disagreements so far over email with the whole floor copied in.
in a building made of glass, apparently it is supposed to be an intelligent design. It is freezing in winter and boiling in summer...least the IT office has air con so I escape up there every hour or so
I'd just be arguing with myself.
so can pretty much covertly control it myself
occasionally someone comes over and looks puzzled about how it's changed since they last messed with it
i just shrug
It's 34 degrees in my office
When it hit 33 C.
seems there's no law about the upper (or lower) working room temps, but I did find this: "HSE previously defined thermal comfort in the workplace, as: 'An acceptable zone of thermal comfort for most people in the UK lies roughly between 13°C (56°F) and 30°C (86°F), with acceptable temperatures for more strenuous work activities concentrated towards the bottom end of the range, and more sedentary activities towards the higher end.'"
I can't concentrate.
insofar as we don't have air con but were told units were being delivered today. it's 34 degrees and still no sign. lovely stuff
and air con wars
can't be bothered (too hot)
Got it on swing at the moment. Lovely.
think I'm going to die
Fucking bullshit. It's ridic degrees c in here, get the temp down and those who are moaning about it, just fuck off.
but one of the walls cracked yesterday & there were power cuts in bristol t'other day which meant the door alarms have been beeping for the last 3 days
All the girls are dressed in their floaty summer dresses and will complain about the coolness just after 11am.
the problem with air con in an office is that we are just sat on our arses, so if it is on, it keeps cooling us down until we are chilled through. If it is lowered then we can get slowly hotter. There is no perfect temperature and people will aways disagree. I just stay out of it, if I am cold I put a jumper on.
with beanbag spaces and photos of employees holding up inspiring slogans on the walls, and there are 16 air conditioning units on my floor alone. If anything, its too cold.
Remembered why we never use it.
It's a mobile unit - and it doesn't have a proper heat outlet pipe thing that you can dump out a window or something. So it puts out a little bit of cold air from the front - and blasts out hot air out the back.
Poked the back out the door yesterday - it was showing a temperature of about 38 degrees in teh office...
