great for while you're trying to browse discreetly at work
and yeah, if I'm waiting for an important email, I want to hear it come in.
No excuse to have an ad that you can't at least mute.
You seem unsure.
Poor fuckers who sit near you if so.
Who even DOES that?
still browsing 'discreetly' lest your boss suddenly appear at your window
I just love how EMO always wants to be FUCKING ANGRY about everything.
Not for him the simple, "Oh, I work at home so it's not that bad really," of you or I.
I've been angry about like 2 things in the past year, your tone reading is obviously as bad as fidel's!
you're just really quick to come back all prickly.
that I'm not always being 100% serious, but there I go again.
despite it certainly meaning his own death, Mr. Porcupine.
When I bust out from the inside, Will Smith in MiB style and save the planet.
not wanting to hear an advert at the same time as listening to something?
Also, you guys talking about using headphones - that doesn't solve the problem if you're having to use them to work..?
you implicitly agree with the whole thing, even when you made no suggestion that way! When did that ruling come in? I can never keep up!
they were only addressing *part* of the OP
OP makes a point about it fucking up his covert web browsing.
Busma questions why the laptop isn't muted. That's not a statement on its own, it clearly implicitly asks why it isn't muted in this situation.
You come back with a comment about listening to music and then get all high-horse about how you have your own office or work from home, both of which aren't really what we're discussing.
You can't have it both ways.
He said 'People:' addressing anyone therefore, that doesn't have their laptop/computer muted.
Otherwise all posts refer to everything.
i said 'people:'. this is a big difference
'people: why do you still not have muted volume on your work computers' - Addressing anyone who doesn't mute their computers
'why do you still not have muted volume on your work computers' - Addresses specifically eric3rd as the OP.
That IS the context.
first comment in a thread if not stating specifically otherwise must refer to OP
therefore, refers to what the OP said
i think you should apologise, marckee
but I use my stereo for playing music from my server because laptop speakers are fucking dreadful shit.
unless I'm editing something
if you use sound in your job and blare it across the office you deserve everything you get
and never looking back
I once asked someone in the media bit if they'd mind editing the latest promotional video with headphones because the repeated background music was driving us all mental. They looked at me like I was some kind of horrible philistine.
but for audio picturebooks
If he can drive enough users away from the site, the decreased server load will save him money on hosting.
It's actually quite, quite brilliant.
but the autoplay is fucking shit.
at first appeared like there wasn't one
I have had it so long I didn't know such ads existed.
it is an add-on for firefox / chrome that blocks ads, annoying popups, youtube annoyances, basically everything.
Great bunch of ads
but I'd just posted so it lost my ":D", sorry.
