Watching them at home you feel like your missing out, when you're there they're not all they're cracked up to be.
could be good
And they're always completely shit, like they intentionally only show the worst acts. So no, I feel pretty smug usually.
Going to the Green Man again this year that's always nice.
Someone who knows something about folk should tell me what I should listen to
Obviously check out who's on the line-up, my knowledge of folk isn't great and wasn't then, but I discovered lots of fun new stuff AND got to see Chumbawumba.
It's a mix of oldies (Joan Baez, The Proclaimers) and Radio 2 fare (Passenger), though the Skatalites should be fun and I quite like Nick Mulvey (though he's probably derided on here).
Several of my colleagues are doing stewarding this year (paid, plus free entrance to the festival) - I get to do 8-4 in a car park and the rest of the day is for, hopefully, drinking ale in the sun and watching obscure folk acts.
TV coverage of them that isn't of Orbital at Glastonbury in the mid 90s is really naff. Fests are much better in reality.
unless I was in a hotel or really top-end camping (maybe an RV or something).
To be honest, the toilet situation is really off-putting.
even when it rained they survived...
with VIP wristband.
Only liked Moby at Glastonbury 2003 and Morrissey at Reading 2004 (5?). Festivals are utter bullshit and should be banned.
as my main memories tend to be larking about when pissed. Also I do remember the reality of festivals: shuffling about between stages, waiting for bands to come on, being behind tall sweaty people. I am officially old now, I can relax at home and watch them there.
Literally no one that I want to see on the line-up though. Are any of these good?
that would be amazing. can't see the residents liking that too much though.
reverend and the makers etc
Slight disappointment when I found that out. Enjoy Craig Charles on your cold Northern beach etc.
and to be honest the island is pretty small and you can still go over.
just be careful of timings and all that. you don't want to get stranded over there during R&TM
But the grass is always greener on the otherside
The neighbour's got a new car that you wanna drive
And when time is running out you wanna stay alive
We all live under the same sky
We all live
We all die
There is no wrong
There is no right
The circle only has one side
