I paid a cheque in yesterday.
It's going to take five days for funds to clear.
What is the cheque clearing cycle and how long does it take?
The cheque clearing cycle is the process we use to establish whether a payment made by cheque can be honoured. It normally takes 5 working days. However, in cases where the payment can’t be honoured – eg, if the person making it doesn’t have enough money in the relevant account – we need extra days to allow for the unpaid cheque to be returned.
Are we talking business/working days here?
I'd be surprised if the money isn't resting in your account by Freitag.
that took 5 days to clear
So I forget that I bought something and then discover £70 will be coming out a couple of weeks later.
I have never written a cheque. doesn't look like I ever will.
I had to write one as a deposit for something the other day and in my current cheque book, my first cheque was written in 1997.
one of my favourite things was trying to explain to my gran "where the paper goes" when you send someone a fax
All confidential patient information that needs to be sent between hospitals is sent by fax. Surely this is an incredibly unsafe method of transmitting data when it comes to data protection?
The Japanese love them. Can't get enough.
but the ether was meant to be about travelling fast
not anything to do with timescale. I will fight you to the pain if necessary.
and once it's there, if you want it back you have to catch it with an ethernet.
I'm sure theo will enjoy this when he sees it
Should get it in about 6 or 7 days.
