Good stuff eh? Going to be a grimly inevitable backlash on social media and that though
'I expect bouncy tits and wobbling booty'.
to basically avoid comments sections on almost anything to do with games. A minute of perverse pleasure in marvelling at the freak show of baffling opinions isn't worth the terror at being faced with the sheer volume of weapons-grace acid bullshit
I hadn't seen the term SJW until around lunctime today, largely because I don't stray beyond a select few forums and podcasts that I know are sufficiently lefty for my pop culture news, do do the Twitter or the Reddit and whathaveyou. But I came across it today in a comics-related podcast, had to Google it, came up with loads of stuff that just made me so cross to look right at some of the horribleness I've been shielding myself from.
"replacing Career mode will be Corruption mode! Play as either an FBI Agent or Swiss policeman to investigate those dodgy dealings OR play as a high-end FIFA representative for YOUR NATION and see how long you can sustain bungled payments for important votes! Sure to sustain a life-time or fun/imprisonment!"
I wonder if you'll be able to play women v men.
Would be great to get a female team rinsing Barcelona or something.
a) more realistic
b) means they can have player ratings on a different scale, having them on the same scale would end up with a total clusterfuck
can't you have like Brazil playing Rochdale or something?
by which I mean Brazil v Rochdale isn't realistic but you can do it on the game so why can't you do this other unrealistic thing on the game?
with 2 of every player on the pitch. #Realism
Above the age of 13 (I think that's the right number), mixed football is explicitly banned - even if a woman is good enough, she can't play in the men's game.
Games such as Brazil v Rochdale can actually happen as friendlies - it's not actually as uncommon as you'd think for international teams to play these kind of games as low key warmups. One of England's last games before Euro '88 was a 7-0 thrashing of Aylesbury United.
Official line is that we're waiting for it to be commercially viable (as in, worth the absolute clusterfuck of development/logistical headaches that would be needed to make it work)
Is it even out in that format
Maybe fix a few matches, but in a way that you can avoid the FBI
the DiS - Sheffield friendly will be a trailblazer for mixed football
Not even a euphemism!
(one girl playing if she doesn't have work that day, can find her boots and I can persuade her)
I imagine it'd be lawsuit city.
Not Adam Lallana and Eve...Lallana
because this was the case in ultimate although that was a non-contact sport.
fucking excellent. just in time for the world cup in canada.
Another comedian ahead of his time shot down by god damn SJWs #prayforharry
Socialism, feminism, cultural Marxism, and social justice warriorism aim to destroy the family unit, decrease the fertility rate, and impoverish the state through large welfare entitlements.
all of the ratings were 0, except for aggression, and 2 dodgily added on new categories, 'cooking' and 'cleaning'. All of those had a 99 rating.
presumably this was innuendo rather than a concession to the womens' game
THis is good, right? Starting off with 12 international teams, and presumably rolling out to women's clubs in future years.
how America fucking owns the women's game. and they play it all wrong too, it drives me mad.
I'm just playing Blizzard games again. Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone. It's like the dark World of Warcraft habit days all over again.
like it was a complete fluke.
tempted to not play ranked for rest of the month so i don't go screaming back to 19 like I usually do. i'm so saaaaadd.
Back to 17 now. Whyyyyy.
I didn't realise that being rank 15 means top 17.5% of players in your region this season. Neat.
Getting sucked in enough again that I think I will get the latest single player content. Emperor Thausarrian would be nuts for my druid decks, and those Grim Patron warrior decks look fun.
Went on a lovely little run with my new and improved Priest deck last night - basically the basic one from Icy Veins with a few improvements from the card pool I've earned so far. It's really good, basically if you don't get wiped out in the first 7-8 turns you can easily control the board with the amount of cards you generate.
I'm now rank 18.
have never got it to work for me, of course every time i see one on the other side of the table suddenly there are about 95 of them.
having lots and lots of fun with Gallywix at the moment,
But, y'know, made by someone who's actually competent.
it's so annoying and effective against virtually every class
Already had two rage quits after doing something disgusting like Whirlwind with a Grim Patron and a Frothing Berserker out.
Why do I, not every time, but consistently throughout a match have players pass the ball when I haven't clicked to pass.
I'll put a string of passes together, making sure I only hit the pass button once and then suddenly a player (who I wanted to perhaps move with the ball or for whom I hadn't decided on a pass from) will just kick it away in a random direction. Sometimes they make a cool pass (fine, but that's not the point) but more often they'll put it out of play or give it away. It's not the controller, my housemate isn't having this trouble (but then again he's been playing these games pretty much forever), it's clearly *me*. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Can't find anyone else in the world that's suffering this cruel indignity either. Google pretty much draws a blank.
I'm playing FIFA 10 on Xbox 360 btw, but I'm sure that doesn't matter since it's only me fucking it up.
Can't play FIFA, it brings out a very bad side of me. Not realistic enough to not want to throw your controller out of the window, not fun enough to make up for the unrealistic bits.
You're definitely pressing the button too many times.
more considered and deliberate way.
Do you really think that's all it is? I feel sure that sometimes I've only pressed it once for the previous pass but my cunt player still kicks it away to the opposition. (It's almost like he's representing how I'd be playing in real life).
Seems it's connected to me having my finger on the right trigger when I receive the ball.
If I release it just before and then apply it again once I've got the ball it seems to be fine.
want to play some more
THE WITCHER 3
THE WITCHER 3
THE WITCHER 3
THE WITCHER 3
THE WITCHER 3
THE WITCHER 3
I've played Planetside2 once since I got it.
Explored Novigrad a bit and started the main quest there, then went off to burn through contracts and secondary's up to level 10 to get some XP. So much fun.
Also, worked out you can slice people in half while on your horse :D Great way to clear out bandit camps you're over-levelled for.
Only complaint so far is the lack of storage chest for cool items I've no longer got use for but don't really want to sell.
I was shocked. Sold all every sword I'd looted and ran back to get more.
I'm up to level 13 now. The baron's quest list is amazing, so bloody (pun intended) impressed.
And his off-brummie accent
I got the bad one :(
It was incredible
Such a good quest line. I'm just following the novigrad ones now, honestly, just as good. Shit gets dark in this universe.
I've got some blueprints for a level 40 something sword...fuck knows how I'll ever get there. I've put some serious time into this game and I'm still at level 15.
But was limited to 3 games as the daughter is teething.
Seems fun but so far the experience is identical to the Beta test sessions, so not much new to report. Worked great online though, got a game in a few seconds and had no lag or issues. Saw a new map too which was a lot of fun.
Reckon it'll be like Mario Kart for me, where I just find myself having the odd weeknight where I play online for a few hours, move onto something else, then get it out again a month later when new stuff arrives. Hope it sells well. I even saw a Tv ad for it last night. AN ACTUAL NINTENDO TV AD FOR ONE OF THEIR GAMES. Nearly keeled over...
haven't played the game in months but can still hear the theme music ringing in my ears
but the last patch has bugged my game so I can't ride Roach because as soon as he hits a hill he gets stuck in midair.. and the xp bug I've heard about where you don't xp for doing quests! So I'm going to wait for the next patch and take the time to play Life Is Strange.
Done. That last chapter really is weak, isn't it? And I can't be the only one who let Letho go purely because I couldn't be fucked anymore.
Easy is a huge stepdown from Normal, in case anyone cares about that. I got the super special armor at the end and let the dragon bat me around for a bit, it couldn't even scratch me. Definitely the mode to go for if you don't care about the series' wonky swordplay and want to get at the real meat of it.
W3 next week. Can't wait.
£21 with this voucher code BATMAN-ARKHAM-SAVE40
not one to pre-ordered usually but I was planning to get this game anyways and that's a significant discount.
Interestingly, they were talking on Midnight resistance this week about PC games that aren't great ports often being discounted up front to boost sales.
The gameplay videos on PS4 look stunning and mechanically sound so can't see this being the case here, but that price is mad...
Sure this'll be a great, ambitious game. Just hate the look of the Batmobile sections.
and the PC version was the best one... gosh the Bioshock price war was insane. Ended up getting it for £20 with 3 games for free... I cant remember the specifics but remember ending up with Civ V and Xcom
so I don't see it being a disaster, probably just padding the presale numbers and they wouldn't take nearly as big a hit discounting it on console.
but yes, the game holds up well on PC, without the dodgy framerate issues and suchlike you sometimes hear about with ports. Smart mapping of the main combat controls onto the mouse too.
I share people's fears about the franchise going more and more for the bombastic when it was the claustrophobia of Asylum was part of what made the game for me though.
Really loving the single player. Have read its pretty short so pacing myself on it but feels like a very different game to the multiplayer at times. Uses different skills you don't really need to utilise online and also a few interactive items like the sponges and fountains. Hope DLC or future maps are coming which use them and have more vertical levels. Would also be interested in themed Nintendo levels (Hyrule field maybe with a huge communal hub to attack each other in).
Up to level 5 on multiplayer and didn't find the limited maps a problem or the lack of voice chat. Generally was so fun I just didn't notice. Also love the ability to swiftly adjust your aim using the tilt controls. Surprised almost every review says to turn that off as I think its really good and has allayed my fears over Starfox.
Doesn't feel like there is enough content included though for a full price game. I know updates are coming, but will people still be playing it in 3 months time with what we have? Time will tell... It'll either be a great move to pace it and like Minecraft or Mario Kart, it'll grow into its own skin or else it'll be a ghost town by summer.
Really glad I bought it though, great fun and just mechanically joyous to play.

Don't think I've played any remasters.
while playing Fallout: NV yesterday. i'm now wandering the wasteland while named, bafflingly, Khmer.
never ever know what to call my characters. i need a standard name or something
Think that's ok given that it was my first full month playing it and I only have one, class-specific legendary card. There are a load of people in the 16-18 ranks with all the good cards who just roll over me. Don't know why they aren't ranked higher tbh.
Yeah, I don't get that either. I suspect they get to that rank by having better cards than most but not being very good players, so can't consistently get further.
That's probably me just being bitter though because it's around the rank that I tend to settle at too.
Saw over the weekend Capcom announced Monster Hunter X, a new 3DS games that sees them working with FROM Software. No idea how it'll work or if the world needs another MH game just yet, but if you could combine the two, from podcasts about MH I suspect you'd get a pretty amazing game.
Managed to get to the second stage of the flagship battle. On Easy. Got absolutely toasted.
because loads of old games like that have been put online now. In US films and sitcoms and stuff they always talk about it like ever making it to Oregon was a legendary impossibility and everyone would just die of dysentry before you got close, but I got four people there in good health first time round. Piece of piss. Have a go.
Been waiting forever, I can't wait. Really hope I enjoy it as much as Skyrim.
Probably need to book some holiday.
first things first, remember it isn't Skyrim. It's MMO more than it is an Elder Scrolls game, it's a good one though from the hours I played I really enjoyed it all, a year as done this game some good.
Also, the graphics are about as good as Skyrim on 360, maybe slightly worse. Gonna be a tough one to go from The Witcher 3 to that.
you just need to change your expectations
It's a perfectly decent MMO which you whittle your hours away, but don't expect a Skyrim successor, going in expecting a game on the scale and polish of Skyrim could be the biggest mistake you could make.
IMHO though it's not as good as WOW, FF14 or Guild Wars 2 so I played it in the beta and forgot about it the moment you had to pay for it, but for someone whose never played an MMO or has minimal exposure to them it's a decent game to play a lil bit. It's solid but unremarkable which explains the buzz for the consoles release seems incredibly muted because the fanfare from the PC side of things hasn't been present.
Not played the others, but you lot seem to think it's ace. Bit like Skyrim yeah? I love me some Skyrim.
It's a shit ton more story driven than Skyrim was. I only say this because it's not good to judge with that in mind.
I think vs. Skyrim and Fallout it is a lot less conducive to that feeling of 'I wonder what lies over in this direction'. But the story-driven-ness of it is just SO GOOD
Don't think i'll be trying that again in a hurry. Managed to take out that gimp Havel though.
Havel is a dick. I spent a whole evening/most of a night dying trying to kill him.
There is a cheap and cheesy way of killing ceaseless discharge, but I can't remember what it is.
He's an utter bastard to beat without it.
Still not sure i'm in a position to do so yet, level 27 and only just reached Sen's Fortress (despite playing for nearly 50 hours). Was worried about over-levelling for a bit, but pretty sure that's not a problem now.
Is funny trying to google recommended levels for taking on particular bosses though, as the overwhelming response always seems to be some bellend insisting that they did it at level 1 and it doesn't matter so long as you've got the super skills they have.
As I tend to play as a sunbro I go by the level ranges you're most likely to be summoned outside the boss fog gate. For sens it's between 40 and 50, in Anor Londo it's between 50 and 60. You'll definitely want to be getting beefed up once Sens is over. It's safe to says shit gets real at that point..
Amazing, time to get beefing up. Although that brings up the problem i've got of being indecisive over levelling, still don't really know where i want to go with things. Might hang around Quelaag's for a bit offering my services to build up some souls.
Had ended up upgrading my pyromancy flame to 8 or 9 (because there didn't seem to be any reason not to) so he wasn't THAT bad in the end. Even then though, I'd think 'ha! he's definitely going down this time, he's not even that tough' then he'd absolutely smash me in. Turns out those Black Knights don't like getting burnt to death either.
One of the reasons i started messing about with pyromancy was that i'm getting a bit sick of my longsword, but it's up to +9 or something now and none of my other weapons come close. However, realised this morning that i could get things up to +5 then start to enchant/occult/magic them or whatever, which might be fun (saving the longsword to make it lightning i think)
Is a real challenge not going straight to walkthroughs for all of this. I hate spoilers, but they also make the whole thing much more manageable and mean i don't miss loads of bits. There's a casual snakeman in Sen's Fortress just leaning up against a wall and i'm dying to find out what the deal is (will probably literally dying to find out at some point) (literally in the game, not literally literally)
Weird day, loads of new games previewed today like Rise of TR, several new 3DS games like Dr Mario and MHX, a free to play Wii U game... Maybe just building up drama for E3 but you'd think they'd just save all this for that?!
before FALLOUT 4 is announced* and kills everyone else's press
so I'll have t wait years to catch up.
Excited that it's happening, not holding my breath though. The XCOM remake was brilliant but didn't have the same sandboxey replayability of the original. Randomly generated maps are a good thing, (as are Snakemen) I just hope they try and make it a bit less linear and narrative driven this time. And on low enough specs for me to play it.
AND IT'S OUT THIS YEAR! :-D
Obviously pre-rendered video, but if that's indicative of the art style of the actual game then it can only be a good thing.
Need to go back and complete XCOM
This is a brilliant resource: http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/37ixjq/basic_naxxramas_blackrock_mountain_deck_guides/
Just because I can't get Gwent on my phone.
And now I've outed myself as a penoid.
In other news, I'm going to try Magic 2015 for android...I'm basically trying to find the closest thing to gwent on my phone. It's most likely Scrolls but I can't be dealing with hacking apk files every time.
Keep me posted on your findings
It doesn't really say much apart from what Hearthstone is and that people who play games are bellends.
OMG PLEASE DON'T BE AN MMO PLZ DON'T BE AN MMO
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE ETC
I knew it was coming, of course it was, but as soon as I saw that countdown clock I started literally vibrating with anticipation.
But the release schedule is the worst telltale have ever done. Deffo recommend when the whole series comes out in 2017 based on the 2 episodes I've played
So far enjoying it a lot, an old school style point n click with a really great cyber punk aesthetic and story thread, pretty funny but equally dark in places too. Highly recommended.
All the big stuff is getting pre-announced. Xcom 2 and Fallout 4 in the last 24 hours alone. I can't think of anything that could get me more excited than those two (especially setting as From software are dead to me now).
skins now available in DOTA2
TLDR: Any game can be refunded for any reason within 14 days of purchase provided you've played it for less than 2hours
but still might fuck up some wee indie games with short playtimes.
Got GTA San Andreas for my iPad the other day as it's about £2 and I've never played any game in the series. It's wicked innit? Some of you probably completed it before hitting puberty but, like you at 14, I'm loving my first time.
One of the first to make a massive open-ended world feel real.
So I've reinstalled Scrolls on my phone, as it's just a lot more interesting that Hearthstone. It's such a shame that you have to use a hacked APK to get it to work on a phone, works just fine on my Nexus 6.
Never liked that in these sorts of games.
I think I've got a key from a Humble Bundle somewhere.
It's not Gwent though. CDPR get us a mobile game STAT.
that a game that good and that addictive should be a minor sideshow in a game that unreasonably big.
and which ones you'd already stolen the card from
All the reviews said it was good but DAMN. Last night I played more Gwent than I did missions.
I am excite!
..... now it's the same with no countdown
'Vault-Tec Central Mainframe has been restarted. Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day.'
Genuinely looks like PS3 graphics to me
but it's never really been about the graphics. Can't wait to get back into that world.
14 hours into a playthrough of New Vegas atm.
Darkest Dungeon got a big, juicy update recently, you should all avail yourselves of that if you're into completely unreasonable roguelikes/H.P. Lovecraft.
but these days I can't last about 20 minutes on anything without just playing Quake or MiniClip Pool or something with instant gratification, my life's wrecked
and could totally see how you get sucked into it. Xenoblade Chronicles aside (which I sunk 90 hours into), I reckon my next biggest single player quest would be GTAV or Skyward Sword in recent years. I actively avoid games over 30 hours long as I just sadly know I won't have time for it given the job / family / lack of free time / backlog of games I have.
Interesting trailer that; sure it'll be wicked.
First in game shots of it released. Reckon Nintendo will show it at E3 too as they have a good relationship. FAST Racing on Wii was really good and sounds like they've removed the one, polarising part of that game which stopped it competing with WipEout or F-Zero. With those franchises seemingly dead, this is the next best thing.
It is slightly telling though that the game will be 720p on the Wii U but those screenshots are 1080p (presumably using a PC).
This week's Bombcast was pretty damning I thought. Essentially:
- There are certain sections where you have to use the Batmobile to get past guards, gun turrets etc
- Bar launching you into a big glide, it doesn't add much and controls weirdly when in hover tank mode
- The combat is still great but 4 games in and with everyone having copied it, feels a bit like old news
- You can do things like Dual Takedowns and chain attacks together with other characters like Nightwing, which is cool the first 2 or 3 times but gets dull and becomes a cumbersome QTE button press
However, this is all outweighted I suspect to most people by looking ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
