It's all kicking off.
The FBI may want to speak to you.
all corrupt money and that, I reckon
but it doesn't seem as though Blatter is gonna be part of the shakedown
I don't get it - how is that man so all bloody powerful? He must have some serious dirt on everyone
which I didn't think was even possible!
Would assume arresting a few FIFA Execs for corruption is a safe bet.
"We didn't. You just told us."
CUT TO ADVERTS
in a brilliant bluff to avert a palace coup. Clever Sepp.
This is a man who had a second Trump Tower apartment just for his cats
hope they win tonight
How can one expect a game to be played with no administrators? Impossible. They probably deserve some compensation too...such pressure.
will change anything about Fifa And The Way It Is. they'll just carry on eating pies and allegedly, well, allegedly everything bad you can imagine
Getting rid of people he doesn't like.
that they're about the only country who doesn't care enough about football football to actually do this?
they've just got more money than everyone else to throw at retrieving money that they think is theirs.
MLS is on the up, and there is Canada as well.
current events will completely overshadow the remainder of the season, and nobody will care who wins.
The first casualty of war is innocence.
just to see what's it like and how much cash is floating about the place at all times. Wonder how close to the truth we all think it is?
He still has his freedom. For now.
do you think the authorities will get suspicious?
solely on appearance, but look at their mugshots! What a parcel of rotten rogues!!
I mean these pics of them. Bad boys. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32895048
does this mean we don't have to go to Qatar in 2022? (presume it's too late to do anything about Russia....)
I really never thought I'd see the say that the Qatar world cup is moved somewhere else.
Still not sure it can happen.
I'm sure all the remaining bidding countries could host it in 2018.
but then I'm talking out of my elbow
It would be a bit mean to all those dead workers to cancel Qatar 2022 now
but on the other hand it might save some others from imminent death
there are no gays in men's football
(all the women footballers are gay though - everyone knows that)
And the Irish players will all be married to each other, like Abby Wambach and Sarah Huffman. Except for Robbie Keane.
And riding unicorns that fart rainbows?
play football all the time and then jump in the showers with a load of other lesbians? sweet m8
you don't have to worry about going to any world cup. anywhere. ever.
just reading this
and remembering this
80% of the journos here appear to be Brits. Why is this?
'this shows that FIFA is moving in the right direction'.
here's Charlie Adam wearing golf get-up in his living room watching the masters (particularly worth it for the first response): https://twitter.com/Charlie26Adam/status/587330890969305088/photo/1
you & your guys should introduce some kind of secret corruption level to Football Manager - bungs, dodgy player deals, sweeteners for delegates & politicians to land better planning permission/stadia etc
I mean, you aim to make it realistic right?
I've been trying to get tapping up in as a concept for years, never gonna happen
something on these lines was added - more around players flipping out Eric Cantona style and getting landed with hefty bans. It was quietly dropped the following year.
without any Agent Orange, Napalm or indeed blood
Think it still can but for newgens only (along with going out on the piss and twitter storms and stuff)
on one of my games way back when. Twice. He'd only been back 6 months the second time.
Terrific game, that was.
What a Pea-cock.
Who's getting it in first to rat on the rest?
If there are any Dundee fans here, unlikely I know. I salute you.
The numbers (2,500), friendliness, support and non-stop singing was unbelievable. They put all Premier League away supports to shame last night.
"Fifa welcomes actions that can help contribute to rooting out any wrongdoing in football ... We are pleased to see that the investigation is being energetically pursued for the good of football and believe that it will help to reinforce measures that Fifa has already taken."
Bit Night Of The Long Knives isn't it?
"Nothing to be celebrating? Maybe they're celebrating being rich footballers with the life you all dream of while you think you're laughing at them from your councils houses with your fat wives and crap cars."
Is he actually any good?
Young(ish), free(ish) and Engl(ish) helps obviously and a scoring record of 1 in 3 for a relegated side is respectable, but good enough for United or even Spurs/Liverpool?
then drop down to a midtable club and look really tidy
Would make perfect sense for Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, maybe Southampton or Everton too (basically all the clubs who are going to try to sign Charlie Austin)
But then only strikers I've seen with enough regularity to compare with properly are Charlie Austin, Jay Rodriguez and Chris Iwelumo. As a Burnley fan, he's the best player we've had for bloody ages: quick, inventive, hard-working, composed in front of goal and seems to really, really give a shit. He's better than Jay-Rod was when we sold him to Southampton, I reckon, though Jay was playing up front on his own and in a worse team so basically I dunno. Very much a Southampton-level player I think, at the top end of his potential ability.
I WAS THERE :'(
it's defies physics. Worst of all I was at the opposite end where people were cheering for a full on 5 minutes before they realised what had happened
Shortlist of 10 here:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32628391
1991 - Stuart Pearce free kick for Nottingham Forest v Tottenham should not be in the shortlist, however, as the goal should have been disallowed. The Forest number 10 standing in the Tottenham wall blatantly pushes the defender out of way leaving Pearce a clear path through to the goal.
Would probably give to Gerrard for the circumstances as much as the shot.
those three Gerrard big moment worldies (Olympiakos, West Ham, Trinidad & Tobago) are still proper goosebumps moments
football corruptions version of Pete Doherty? Every time someone in authority want's to look like they're being pro-active on "naughty behaviour" they just get him picked up for questioning, but never actually charge him with anything serious enough that he won't be available next time they need the publicity of an arrest.
They're really giving it some.
some big numbers here.
“This really is the World Cup of fraud, and today we are issuing Fifa a red card.”
You get red cards in games of football for doing something wrong, so I can totally see his angle there.
feels like we're watching the cheesy american screen adaptation of the events, but LIVE
Best thing to happen in ages. If they're investigating the presidency in 2011 how can Blatter NOT be implicated?
Christ can you imagine.
“We need to volley these corrupt officials into the net of justice.”
You couldn't make it up!
Richard Weber, chief of the IRS criminal investigation, now at the dais.
“This really is the World Cup of fraud,” he says, “and today we are issuing Fifa a red card.”
looks so much like the Emperor it's not true.
Would save a lot of bother.
West Ham must be furious at accidentally sneaking into the qualifying rounds next year.
Bye Wright Phillips!
Bye Richard Dunne!
and even that is a push?
Think of all the money that frees up though!
shambles all over the shop.
Already we look like we have a plan - seem to be signing two lads from Swindon who are young and will want to play for us.
I think you'll actually end up a lot better off with hungry to prove themselves young squad instead of a bunch of 'names' that lack any real impetus to push themselves.
Fifa spokesman Walter de Gregorio told the Associated Press: “He is not involved at all.”
Eddie Howe wins the LMA manager of the year!!1!1!!!
Is anyone giving a fuck.
Sevilla play really exciting football and have got some brilliant players. They deserve champions league football next year
Also quite like Dnipro cos i've been there, to that stadium. Would be a good story.
Hoping Konoplyanka does something special and keeps the quality of this first 40ish minutes going
May the best team win and all that
Hope the Dnipro boy is alright, horrible seeing things like that.
