Alright? I have a coffee, a ham and cheese croissant thing and another seven hours of work.
Re: trying to find something a bit different to listen to (from the evening thread) and bearing in mind that yr a Steely Dan man, why not give Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark a bash? Obviously very different from a songwriting perspective but just as sleek and populated with musicians that went on to form part of Mssr's Becker and Fagan's band. It's great and fits the bill with this time of year really nicely.
I'll let you know what I think, as I'm sure you are dying to find out ;)
I just walked through the park listening to this, smell of blossom in the air, faintly sticky thundery summer feel, suited it perfectly. There's a real strange mix of fragil optimism and cynicism that's really appealing and some great laid back evocative playing from the band...never heard any Joni Mitchell before but it seems she is great!
Thanks for the recommendation, another winner from the Fintz
She's so emotionally literate and so in control of *that* voice. Wonderful stuff. When winter returns grab a copy of blue, it's just as good (they're the only 2 I've got so far).
i'm making drum beats until i pass out tonight :D
Made huevos this morning, so good

Laying patio this weekend. Wickes lorry woke up my whole street at 8AM, I'm a twat.

I hat had some aimed salmon and poached eggs, yum.
Got really stoned last night for the first time in ages and went with ma pal to see mad max, hit the giggles when I had to ask for the tickets, the guy behind the counter looked pretty unimpressed.
What a daft film, but I really enjoyed it!
Bout to go to the pub to watch another rangers qualifying game.

just a lazy day. might do some food shopping later, going to a friend's this evening to play board games and (if we can persuade the host) watch Eurovision, although he's really repressed and hates anything even remotely weird so probably not :(
really pleased it looks like the Irish referendum's returning a yes vote, someone on my Facebook newsfeed has been posting about it loads campaigning for a no vote and it's got me really invested in it
My knee is playing up so I didn't make it to yoga this morning :( but there's been several cats knocking about the garden and that's made up for it :D

Had some builders round to get some quotes for some work I'm having done, now I'm watching the cricket. Should probably go to Wickes later to get some stuff I need for the house, but I might just go for a stroll* in the sun instead. Going to the pub this evening; hoping to see as little of Eurovision as possible.

I'm so happy. I've cried with joy a few times this morning already. This fucking county.

Had a really lovely day today. My parents are around this weekend, and today we went to Tower of London where I had never been before – then walked all the way from there along the south bank towards Waterloo Bridge, stopped in a pub for food on the way and ended the evening with a bottle of prosecco outside on the top terrace at the National Theatre. (Made even better by the fact they're paying for everything, obvs, but pretty good day in any case)
the only things I actually enjoy doing are lying in bed, eating microwave pizzas and watching Jonathan Creek
but that's not really a sustainable lifestyle. There's only 31 episodes ffs
