someone on the street invited us in, so we thought why not. Bieber was on it playing the drums and the outside was stacked with Beliebers, was quite the experience.
The guy has been a constant throughout my life. The last show was fitting I think. No crying, pretty dignified.
PLEASE DON'T HAVE BEEN A PAEDO
Have been a constant through your life?
He presented a chat show for goodness sake.
if he was meant to be funny or not.
no him so well.
Do they run the show on Sky or something?
usually a day or two after the US airing. that's when I used to watch it.
I got into it because my uncle used to send me videos of it that he'd recorded.
on ITV2 I think, back in the student days. Used to watch or record pretty much every one. Did anyone air it over here after that? Somebody should dig up the old NBC show and air highlights. Maybe Sky Arts or something, they're not doing much of anything else.
their Andre Rieu (sic?) coverage!!!
We actually rebranded Sky Arts 2 as Sky Arts Rieu for two whole weeks a while back. I still have no idea who he is or why he warrants this, nor do I care to find out.
And there's like, six of them, every night? When all they are is dreadful fawning vacuous interviews with people on publicity tours, a bit of hastily thrown together topical comedy and some skits designed to go viral. If you have a good personality behind it it's watchable enough, but people bang on about it like it like it's this high point of western culture. When it's basically day time TV but a bit naughtier.
is how late they actually are. i mean, some fucking start at like 10.35pm Central, 11.35pm Eastern
who the fuck can be arsed watching that five nights a week!
often on until post-1am.
I read somewhere that late night talkshows are viewed as part of the reason a huge number of Americans are constantly sleep-deprived.
Just seems to be 15 minute interviews, the first 12 of which are in-jokes followed by a brief mention of the guest's new film.
Oh, man, the ad breaks they have to endure to actually get through it.
favourite letterman performances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RFTB5vgV_4
it's great, totally over-egging it and yet somehow getting away with it
LOOK MA, I'M ON LETTERMAN
The reason Rivers is hardly moving is due to wearing a big leg brace under those biiiig trousers after under going surgery to correct a birth defect.
top fact if true
mainly because John Power is inherently hilarious
Father John Misty doing Son Of A Ladies' Man, but this montage of all the Darlene Love performances takes it for me:
When we went to watch the show being filmed it had Jimmy Eat World doing Bleed American.
Dave still manages to get a "HERE WE GO!" in
still can't believe this one actually happened
SORRY EVERYONE IN THE WORLD SORRY FOR BEING A CUNT TO SOMEONE WHO YOU DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW
but he was also highly talented, entertaining and hilarious
And decided to just confess on-air that he'd been having an affair instead of paying up?
This means nothing to you.
Now when WOSSY retires... or NORTON... or CARR....
love wounds and marks
I don't watch any of them, but so far they've taken Piers Morgan and James Cordon off our hands, so long may they continue
I like watching interviews on YouTube
He has a dry, subtle sense of humour that's an extension of his personality rather than some sort of detachable add-on for hamming it up. Like the difference between Sean Lock and Jimmy Carr for example.
I like it when he laughs at things cos it makes me think it must be funny
He's self deprecating and introverted and I feel like I can relate to him
When bands play on his show in my head it feels like they've made it. I like the introduction where he's holding their CD/LP.
Has an amazing ear for a good track
Is absolutely fucking beautiful
