Link to something you're currently JAGging - be it music, blog, whatevs
For both the compliments and the monies
Hope it gives you many hours of happy brain frequencies & body jerks
Was listening to the new Kerrier District album in the recently purchased albums bit of iTunes. Genuinely didn't realise I'd shifted into your EP once it was finished (if you hate Luke Vibert, then pretend I didn't write this!)
I like all your stuff, but this was especially good.
Very much appreciated :)
and sent me compliments via mail or twitter - there's a bunch of you here that I'm not sure of which real name goes with which username but I really appreciate it :)
And here's me trying to make a magnanimous jagthread instead of a pure selfish one
The other tracks are more exciting than the first one
the brooding John Carpenter style synth that begins it & runs throughout is great - I'd be happy to listen to just that on a loop for 20 minutes
listened to 3 of the others & I think I like the first one best - getting some Bomb the Bass vibes overall (minus the scratching) which is no bad thing
We are shoegazey, dream-poppy stuff.
Doing one single a month on the same day of every month, then when we hit 10 tracks putting it all out on vinyl in Feb. Something to do innit.
Creaky has heard a taster and likes it. Seal of approval: confirmed.
In which case enjoy your expensive coasters. But I presume you mean online which is actually a v good idea b d
yes. gonna do the singles online, some with videos, and then if we have enough people liking us by Feb we'll press a vinyl of all 10. if people have bought every track digitally they'll get it for mega cheap, otherwise they'll pay standard price
I can't find one
But it felt like i should jag now while the iron was hot.
If you like and follow the page.... oh GO ON.
I run a website for a mate and he emailed me the other day to say he'd gone on a site and this "LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE" pop up appeared. He said it just cancelled it naturally, but wondered if that might work on our site. :D
As in tomorrow ?
Y u releasin' on a Saturday homes?
if you really really like My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts so much that stuff that is shit but sounds a tiny bit like it does it for then fill your boots
you gonna release anything or are you still in an experimental phase and that?
do fear that that's a phase i might never leave without a regular collaborator forcing me to finish stuff. showers is finished enough that my friend is planning on using it in a computer game, and i wrote another soundtrack for another game he's working on, so that's nice.
each time i learn something new or buy new equpiment i end up trying to figure out some grand new plan for doing stuff and im not spending enough time on it right at the moment to actually achieve anything
I've really missed having collaborators - it makes a huge difference when you have a responsibility to someone else to get your shit together too
of Showers on one side & Oulmés on the other
you're on guitar right?
I had no idea you were in an altpop shoegaze outfit
Tell us about Arêtes
really liked it - not something I'd necessarily listen to normally but very wooshy & dreamy and quite accomplished & excellent guitar playing
I think I liked the tracks where the male & female vocals interplay the most - the coda of the years ahead, the years behind particularly stood out and shimmered
really like this
He's too busy to reply to you
I'm playing Waiting Room on Tuesday with my flatmate's band, here's our current EP: http://open.spotify.com/album/3f2HmO5xdBBcIMXofl3Q9X
otherwise, I'm gonna Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try Again: https://soundcloud.com/fatcat-demo/spoilers-try-try-try
is it just my speakers though or does this clip & distort a lot ?
Thinking about getting a dedicated domain for it, anyone get any advice on going about it?
you can still use tumblr as your host if you buy a domain
relatively simple to do once you find a host you're okay with
I don't even like Tumblr that much but I feel committed now.
Also featured: a couple of stories I'm selling on Amazon. They'll both be free for the whole of next week if anyone is interested.
Go, download, give me a 5 star review and then perhaps one day someone I don't know personally might spend actual cash money on one of these. As a business plan this may need work..
I'd download in the morning
I'd download in the evening
Who has a kindle?
I dunno, I put them up on amazon mainly so I could tell myself they're finished and move onto something else. I've spotted a bunch of grammatical errors since then though, which is driving me crazy.
If anyone wants some .pdf action instead I'd be happy to oblige.
I haven't checked out anyone else stuff in this thread btw. Your talent intimidates me. No wait, I listen to shieldz's radio show. That's really good stuff.
I've never read a first edition that doesn't have typos, print errors, grammatical errors and/or even factual errors - and that's with editors, subs, publishing houses etc. so I wouldn't fret too much about it
also, if you want to pdf me;
mutually.assured.production at gmail dot com
but i'm starting to work on a kind of audio visual LIVE extravagaza - i think it's going to take me about a year or so of work to get anythng decent, but i think it will end up as lots of fairly loose pre recorded samples in ableton - that when triggered will set off some animations i have made (one loop of a sample in ableton corresponds with a looped animation, an effect change in ableton will triggered a visual effect in eth projection) with freeform synthy noise stuff over the top.
so it's not all loops really - will give it some more structure i guess
I've always wanted to do something like this but my AV skills are limited
Had whole fantasies about developing a unified theory of colour output based on sound input and suchlike
yeah i don't know what the hell i'm doing but hopefully it will be quite good
good shows recently.
That is as soon as my studio is fixed
I literally have the painters & decorators in
It took 7 weeks from me dismantling the studio to them actually starting work on scraping all the walls, replastering & painting
Fingers crossed they'll be finished tomorrow
and there's no rush man, :) appreciate it.
Done an album though, that's coming when I get round to finishing the over ambitious artwork
This won't be on it, but is better than most of it. SALES PITCH
which is next weekend 29th/30th/31st May. It's gonna be fun if anyone at all comes. We're also screening the Elliott Smith documentary.
GoldFlakePaint is also my music blog which some people might like. Also I just made some nice tees you can buy so I can jag that too. THANKS!
It's not blippy and bloopy and has words and stuff.
You'll all hate it.
but here's the stuff so far, anyway, while I'm just passing by the JAG thread
An unsettling story about what happens when obsession and free range over a university campus are mixed...
I've got a book of short stories coming out soon too.
did you write your own reviews or is it just chance that they have the same surname? ;)
it's my bloody parents. I'm thinking of deleting them but I'm not sure I can. At least the other one's from a mate who doesn't share my surname.
I really really want to make some more music but anxiety makes it really hard to settle down to it.
I go through similar phases..... sometimes i force myself into the studio and EVERYTHING is shit.
Maybe just wait it out.
Or have a go at remixing someone else's track or something just to get you in there but not having to come up with ideas from scratch
Some hugely indulgent 15 minute improv jams on our soundcloud -
Album has been in the works for nearly 2 years, almost finished, but we said that 12 months ago.
I'm jagging the shit out of this little fest that I'm putting on:
Also, this is my label blog, with video's and sessions that we've filmed. Its a mess but the new site is going up soon!
A video for every single one. x
You know what would be good on that opening splash page? A soundcloud or Spotify playlist that's a random shuffle of all the artists on the bill
I'll look at sticking that in there. Thanks x

Also doing a zine of short stories later in the year based on Pulp. You can submit here if you want:
Here's an album I made, kind of a mixture of ambient, techno, lo-fi shoegaze
It's also available from most digital stores (iTunes, Amazon, Beatport, etc)
Reminded me I have a website, with some free short stories on there for those of you who don't have a kindle/don't want to spend LESS THAN A PRICE OF A PINT on a piece of literature. ;-)
Good luck collosalhorse.
if you have 20 minutes to waste
the louder bits on the first track are ace! maybe i will post more in eight or nine minutes when i can comment on the other song too
like a slightly abstracted agalloch on HEROIN
let's see if it segues into track 2
you needed to work on that segue
track 2 has begun rly well though
you're given a pass
and track 2 kicks butt so, like, heavy music fans, tune in!
cheers for enlightening me x
when I finish my novel in a few months, I shall live up to it, and how
how's it coming along then?
the end is kind of in sight and i've got a schedule for every remaining chapter - only 10 or so to go then a giant final chapter then an epic poem. probably about 100k words away still (maybe less) - but i've done 170k so it feels like the rocket is tilted down and heading for home.
n.b. my novel is in no way plagiarised
m8, you'll live long enough to read TWO of my novels
