if i want to y'know, learn stuff?
but still fascinating. the early episodes are wonderful bitesized stories. the recent weekly episodes have been stretching it a bit and the plugging of radiotopia pisses me off.
called Wikishuffle that is quietly growing into it's format - they discuss a few random articles on wikipedia over 30 odd minutes. particularly the spelling bee one is a standout.
and my own music one?
jook has TWO podcasts??
he had one that became Wikishuffle i think.
Comedy Bang Bang
This American Life
The Mental Illness Happy Hour
How Did This Get Made
The Todd Glass Show
Never Not Funny
The Black List Table Reads
The Hooray Show
You Made It Weird
Pep Talks With Eddie Pepitone
The Dana Gould Hour
The Wandering Wolf
Meet The Composer
U Talkin' U2 To Me?
The Pod F Tompkast
nah idk, you'll almost certainly enjoy song exploder, which i only started listening to today. it's like those Classic Albums docs but only about 1 song and by smaller artists and it's a podcast
some are defunct. some i set to autodownload but if i'm not interested in the guest i just delete.
i probably still listen to i guess 10 to 15 hours of podcasts a week? some i listen to in the shower, some i listen to on lunch breaks whilst wandering, some on my commute home (dont listen to them on my commute into work). generally let them play out when i get home and am doing some housework/cooking
need to get into some kind of habit i suppose
or read any books, but that makes listening to music better somtimes like
but i like the idea of one way podcasts, the other reading
thanks alcxxk, you've changed my thinking
which is about a former This American Life producer starting his own podcast company.
they've started series 2 now which is following a different company, but I've not had a chance to listen to any of them yet.
It's doesn't feel like you're listening to a man's life fall apart, and more like a weekly update on what his mates have been up to. Good though.
'we hate movies' is funny
has become my favourite podcast since someone recommended it on here. So consistently funny.
What apps do you use to listen to Podcasts? I've been using Stitcher but I find the interface a bit non-intuitive. Any recomendations for something better?
You have to pay for it but honestly worth every single penny.
It would have to be damn good to get me to pay money for it when there are good free equivalents out there.
if you don't want to pay for it, grab Google Opinion Rewards which gives you free Play credit for answering questions
You could get some games for that.
material design is lush
obvs no ads
has syncing options to yr desktop
excellent discovery functionality
all the auto-downloading / deletion options you'd ever need
works really well with an sd card
Mine does all that stuff apart from the ads (not intrusive) and syncing to desktop (don't know why you would do that). Enjoy your premium app at Reading!
each to their own, isn't it
Any reason why you'd use anything else?
was using antenna pod, but have decided it's really shit.
I tried to set it up to store podcasts on my sd card instead of my phone and it just broke. so not that.
Really dead good.
(and are bizarrely proud of the fact)
idk, was planning on trolling you lightly but i' cba
apparently spotify is going to start doing podcasts
videos too but don't care about that
(another true crime podcast, turns out I really like true crime stuff, WHO KNEW)
anyway, I think it's a bit... OTT and sensationalist in places and I feel a bit weird and uncomfortable about listening to it but I CAN'T STOP, aaargh.
